This hotel distinguishes itself by introducing its costumers through a simple and authentic stay. According to the low season, we had time to relax at Casa Antigua while admirating the amazing man-made decorations. We also spent precious hours talking with the owner (Henry) who certainly figures in my "top 10" of the most positive/real person that I have met in... More

A persian-run small hotel, with a pool and a nice yard surrounding it. Very conveniently located near the airport. The breakfast is good, and if you are lucky to try Henry's persian dinner, you should take the opportunity, terrific experience. Henry is very pleasant, knowledgeable and warm, sharing exotic stories. The only down is the rooms - small but clean.... More

Positives - Close to airport, parking available, good breakfast, pretty outdoors (as shown in the photos), beautiful wood works, very friendly and helpful owner. He gave his phone number and suggested that since this was our first time in CR, we call him in case we get stuck or face any problem. Negatives - Small rooms (one had A/C and... More

This is a wonderful little hotel, just perfect for early departures or late arrivals from the airport. It's Persian flair reflects the style and grace of the owner and host, Henri. Artist, intellect, historian and philosopher, this kind innkeeper is at the heart of this hotel. Accommodations are simple, but well appointed and clean. I only wish we had stayed... More

For a few years now I have been stopping at "Henry's" every time I fly in and out of costa rica. He is the kindest man, an artisan, and has many good stories to tell. Every bit of the beautiful carpentry and decoration was done by hand. If you are lucky enough to eat one of the Persian dinners you... More

Casa Antigua is just a few minutes away from San Jose airport and a quick walk from Alajuela's most popular venues (the casino in particular). For that reason its location is very convenient. The whole place is decorated with taste and creativity. The backyard is inviting and very relaxing, plus you can enjoy the company of a dog, a cat... More

I stayed here for 2 nights. The rooms were small, but comfortable and nicely decorated. The complimentary breakfast included tons of tasty fresh fruit. The backyard area was amazing - tons of cool hand crafted tables/chairs, parrots, a swimming pool etc. But what really made this place awesome was the owner, Henry. He was extremely friendly and very helpful. If... More

My husband & I stayed here on our last night in Costa Rica. I looked at there website before I booked the room and I feel like they falsely represented the hotel. We planned to sit by the pool have a drink at the bar and eat at the restaurant. But none of that was possible because the pool was... More
