Hotel Brilla Sol is the perfect stopover hotel in San Jose, Costa Rica. The rates are low and include round trip transportation to the airport, lodging and breakfast. It is basically a B&B in a nondescript neighborhood. You will feel safe, the staff is friendly and the rooms are clean. It is a budget friendly option so be realistic about... More

Stayed there the last night on our recent trip. Very close to the airport, but a somewhat awkward neighborhood. Our family room had too many beds and it was quite dark but ultimately the beds were very comfortable. Most surprisingly, the dinner and the breakfast (incl. in the room rate) were very tasty.

Group of friends rented three rooms for one night during last week of June, 2014. Rooms were clean. Shower had some mildew, but worked--was glad there was hot water. This hotel has free shuttle and breakfast provided. Wireless would could not be accessed in room--had to sit outside. The Tico breakfast was very good. Staff friendly and efficient. There is... More

When my wife and I returned our rental car this hotel was recommended for our last night in Costa Rica. The property grounds are very nice. The rooms are quiet in spite of the nearness to the airport. The on-site restaurant has great food, and the staff is very accommodating...

PERFECT stay just 10 minutes from the airport-free shuttle (4am-11pm) or secured parking. Immaculate grounds w/pool, fabulous restaurant/bar. Staff is amazing, from the shuttle driver to the reception and kitchen staff-everyone is warm friendly and accommodating! FULL breakfast included & it's amazing! Guillermo treated us like family! If you begin your trip here, they have full-service tour information available right... More

We returned our rental car the day before our return flight home. Excellent idea! No last minute hassles, just easy going and restful, the Costa Rican way. :) The Hotel had a shuttle pick us up at the car rental and took us to the Hotel. The grounds were luxuriant with trees, plants, flowers & birds, well kept up, easy... More

The hotel is 2.5 miles from the airport, but it very close to major roads, and around 20 miles from San Jose. 10 Mins away from downtown Alejuela, where you can find many amenities. Because it just out of the metro area, traffic is lighter and moving around CR is easy and accessible. The staff was very friendly and helpful... More

Our tour-guide at Toucan Travel recommended Hotel Brillasol when we requested overnight accommodations near San Jose Airport. We did not want to be in the city and this was absolutely the perfect choice for us. The hotel shuttle driver met us off our flight and took us back when we requested the following day. The hotel is small, with a... More

The only downside is that the hotel is a bit far from downtown Alajuela. You'll need to take a cab if you want to go into town. However, it is very close to the airport, and the shuttle is free. There is a great seafood restaurant just a short walk away, as well as some small markets, and hamburger stands.... More

My husband and I stayed here one night before leaving Costa Rica. When we asked if we could eat dinner there, they told us the chef was too busy and had a large party to feed. We got our room, only to find the ceilings were covered in killed mosquitos and spiders. Large black ants were crawling all over the... More
