I was here last year with a small group (2 women and 4 teenage boys) for 4 days. We were away from the property most of the time as we were on a mission trip, but service was great! I see that the name of the hotel is changing and I'm wondering if Edwin Jr. and Edwin Sr. Are still... More

The hotel was nice, food was good. Stayed there a second time in Sept 2012. About 2 weeks after I got home I got a charge on my credit card for an additional $300+. I charged absolutely nothing to my room, paid cash for everything. I emailed the hotel and was told they would reverse the charges, they did not,... More

Anyone know why the Orquideas Inn is not taking anyone in now in July 2013? I feel stressed out as I booked a room well in advance for ease of mind as coming into San Jose at night and now I just received an email saying they cannot accomodate us at all and we leave in a couple of weeks?... More

On our recent trip to Costa Rica,we "splurged" and decided to treat ourselves prior to flying home to the USA. Let me clarify from the beginning:we are used to staying in off the beaten track areas of the country in order to be close to parks, nature and birding areas. We spend little time in our quarters,so don't insist on... More

The Orquideas Inn has become a regular stop on our trips to Costa Rica. This hotel is close to the airport and is an excellent starting point for your trips within the country. The rooms are comfortable. The pool and the grounds are fantastic. The "Marilyn Monroe" Bar is a CLASSIC. The food is excellent.

We needed a place to stay close to the San Jose International Airport and so chose this Inn off of our AAA.com website. We were very impressed. The staff was very helpful to us in getting oriented to Costa Rica. The grounds are very nice with all sorts of exotic, tropical plants. The food in their restaurant was very good.... More

Maybe we had a bad couple of days, but I did not find this hotel to be a great as everyone else seems to think it is. I did not think the hotel staff was particularly friendly as I have experienced else where, nor did I think the food was that great. We ordered three different meals on the first... More

We stayed there for 2 nights. The room was clean and good standard. The staff was friendly and helpful. Edwin the Barman made us have a very nice evening - with one or two drinks to much - and a pretty high bill - but it was worth it. The garden is just amazing, with running peacocks. The Breakfast was... More

I have been traveling around the world on motorcycle for a long time now. I had the opportunity to travel to many countries and meet many people along the route. After about 8 months traveling away from home, I've finally came to Costa Rica and found Orquideas Inn. It has proven to be an excellent choice. It is just a... More
