I made a reservation through Expedia for one night in January at the Resort Martino. I've stayed before and really like the place. A few weeks before I left for Costa Rica, the Resort Martino called me and said there had been a mistake. They didn't have a room. Since I had already paid through Expedia, they offered to book... We took our 14 year old grandson to Costa Rica to see the Rainforest. We chose Club Martino for its location and ambiance. My grandson, Cory loved the nature walk, the activities, pool, internet and game room. I was made to feel special at the SPA and the resort. The owner, Adriano Martino, and his staff was extremly welcoming, helpful... More

We had the villa for two nights, which was perfect for our group of 5 adults--twin bunks and a full sized bed in one room w/tv & wardrobe, and a king-sized bed, kitchenette, and another tv in the main room. The grounds are beautiful to stroll. I've read some of the negative reviews and feel that I have to mention... More

We spent June 11-15th at Club Martino Resort and Spa. Because we booked it through Expedia we couldn't check-out earlier without losing money. We came really close though. The rate was $107 a night. Don't spend a penny more. If you like the outdoor, woody, almost camping feel, then this is the hotel for you. The amenities, such as fresh... More

What a great place to stay! The employees were so nice and the place is beautiful. We stayed there our first and last night in Costa Rica and it was such a great idea. The food was better than average, but the grounds are unbelievable. Highly recommended for anyone staying in or around the San Jose/Alajuela area.

We stayed for a few days the end of December 2004. The hotel is beautiful and well maintained. The Staff was delightful, helpful and always available to answer questions or to offer suggestions of trips to take, etc. The restaurant food was average to above average, nothing inedible, nothing fantastic. The price, though, was moderate which was appreciated. And since... More

Very quiet but plenty of attentive staff. Only 30+ rooms - nicely maintained and decorated (apart from 1 or 2 ants in the bathroom at night only!) Good Italian food at good prices (nothing more that $16 and most between $8.50 and $12). Attentive, helpful and friendly staff. Beautiful swimming pool. Only down side was being dumped outside the "Rosti-Pollos"... More

Having just returned from a truly terrible expereince at Resort Martino I wish to stay anonymous so that the poor bride and groom who had their wedding there new years eve will not know who I am- The food at this "5 Star Resort" was practically inedible- the wedding feast of filet mignon and fish went uneaten by the nearly... Excellent location, attentive staff, and good size rooms. Spent three days at Martino Resort and Spa December 2004. This resort boasts well manicured lawns, beautiful handcarved doors, huge pool. The rooms are extra large most with pool or garden views. Excellent location 10 minutes from the airport or still within an hour or two to alot of the attractions such... More
