Our stay was a really great experience. The staff was extremely helpful and english-capable. We look forward to a return visit in the future. The restaurant food was excellent - I chose the offerings typical of local fare.

What a pleasant surprise! A perfect hotel to stay upon arrival or before departure from SJO. This hotel looked nice in the photos, and it was even better once we were there. It's a small, boutique hotel without the boutique price tag. In fact, pricing is very reasonable. Beautiful views, swimming pool, coffee plantations, and right next to the city... More

Nice clean boutique hotel, comfortable stay with views of coffee plantations. Accommodating staff, near San Jose airport. Beautiful grounds and garden with a small pool. We would stay here again especially if visiting Poas volcano, coffee tours or La Paz waterfalls. The balcony room suited us best with views of the city lights at night.

You can't get more. The design is an interesting architectural specialty. It feels like a Frank Llloyd Wright design. The lush manicured tropical landscape, the view of the Central Valley, the warmth of the lavish use of wood in the construction, all combine to make you feel like you are in a Wonderland. Perhaps you are. The best feature is... More

This was our second time here, and it was like coming home. We brought our kids and grandkids (11 of us total) and spent 7 nights at the Buena Vista. The staff here is great - from shuttle drivers, desk, maids, waiters, bartender - everyone is friendly, helpful and wants to please. The rooms are nice, many with incredible views of... More

Pros: The beds and pillows were awesome. Can't stand a crappy bed. Great shower, nice balcony with arched wooden frame and door. In the morning we had breakfast at the edge, looking out over the whole central valley… calm, bird filled, lovely landscaping. From there we drove up to Poás Volcano, up up and up. Cons: Coffee was less than... More

We stayed just one night at the end of our trip to Costa Rica, but it would be a great place for a longer visit and to tour around San Jose. Lovely decor, beautiful gardens and view, and good food. Couldn't have asked for more.

Very nice hire and grounds, friendly welcoming staff, service can be slow. Safe, trustworthy. Parking can be tight if full. Don't get room 1, 2, or 3 - noisy, too close to lobby. Basic resto and bar. Small but nice pool. Lots of birds and flowers. Recommended.

We stayed just one night upon arrival in CR. Hotel shuttle tracked us down and picked us up - despite us having been delayed by 4 hours. Airport to the hotel (rush hour) was maybe 15-20 minutes. The gated entry to the hotel does not giveaway the beauty and peace you will find once you enter. Check-in was efficient and... More

We were so delighted we stayed here two nights on either end of our Costa Rican adventure. The staff could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. We arrived late in the day and hungry, with a young sick child in tow. They brought food to our room and made sure everything was as we wished. We left early both... More
