We stayed at the Hotel Buena Vista for our night before flying home. Easy to find with signs everywhere leading to the hotel. The staff was wonderful. The Service was absolutely wonnderful, and you are on the hill going to Volcan Poas. Very Basic, and the restaurant had good food. My experience was great, and I would say the only downside was that the room was kind of small (for 4 people). And another great thing was how open it was. more

Really great experience--stayed in room 109 twice where you really get the good view, and I loved falling asleep and waking up to the beautiful view of San Jose. Everyone at the hotel is really nice and accomodating. I'd definitely stay again. Gave it 4 stars b/c the restaurant food is just so-so--but they do have an extensive menu. more

The hotel is clean and spacious. The garden is really lovely and the view spectacular. The staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and at home. We ended a 10 day trip here and did not stray more than a mile away the entire two days. more

We stayed here as a stopover after a vacation in Manuel Antonio and an early morning flight home out of SJO. Free airport shuttle is nice, only a 10 minute ride, 15 if there is traffic.
