We stayed here for one night before flying out of SJO. We had a difficult time directing the taxi driver to the hotel. The hotel grounds are truly beautiful. Our hotel room was gorgeous and the bed was heavenly. But our bathroom was out of shampoo and body lotion - indicating shoddy room service and maintenance. We mentioned this to... More

We stayed at Asclepios in December 2014/January 2015 and we are in agreement with the past and recent reviews about the mixed experience. There is no question that the rooms, facilities and grounds are beautiful. It is a quiet, serene environment. Not to mention, it is incredibly close to the airport (20 minute drive) - so if you happen to... More

We went here after a few days in the jungle for some pampering. The grounds and rooms are beautiful and it has a great location outside of the city. My problem is that if you are coming here for some luxury after being in the jungle, beach, etc it misses in a lot of ways. The #1 being service. I... More

We are a very easy going couple, giving the benefit of the doubt almost always unless it's obvious someone is just negative. Food is ok, the included breakfast is average. Fruit bowl with small bread pieces. Disappointed in the no coffee. Costa Rica has amazing coffee! Utilize your own specialties (just like the other fruits). Plan for meals to be... More

The most scenic hotel in Costa Rica. I totally fell in love with their location, organic food, yoga classes and rituals, and the healing spa. It is located in Alajuela, Costa Rica, surrounded by GREEN! The sun rays would shine through my window at 5 in the morning, birds would sing while I opened my eyes, stretched my arms and... More

Facility is very sleek yet simple. Beautiful grounds. Focus is on spa & healing. Rooms are simple, but nice, great views of the countryside. The restaurant was excellent however, the do not have coffee or beer available. They have many tea options though (must be a healing thing). The staff was extremely helpful with planning assistance for the remainder of... More

We arrived after a 22 hours flight.... And we got exactly what we wanted and needed... Peace and quiet. This is a wellness hotel dedicated to heal the body and soul without any unnecessary distractions. We are vegan, so fruit breakfast is ideal. The rooms are decorated very nice and clean. The hotels design is very comforting. The grounds are... More

Asclepios was a great experience with a great view over the pool to the countryside. Strangely, we were the only ones there, which made our honeymoon even more special. We got the massage package, which we had outdoors. Beautiful, it started to thunder and lightning as the sun set. It was excellent. Vivian and Stephanie did a great Swedish massage.... More

I stayed at Asclepios at the end of a week long journey in Costa Rica. The property was serene and relaxing and very high design for Costa Rica. The rooms have amazing beds with delicious linens. Opening up onto the rainforrest it was a treat to wake up. Spa treatments are top notch for anywhere in the world and this... More

We had a very nice time in this place. The hotel is very quiet. The swimming pool is nice with a stunning view on the forest....a bit dark though in the evening...don't stay there more than two nights...this hotel is a sort of transition in your holidays....
