We stayed at this "hostel" the first night we arrived in Costa Rica. We arrived late at night (around 10pm) and took a taxi to the hostel. The price of the taxi was $10USD but I'm pretty sure we got ripped off. It should have been more like $4-5. So choose a taxi driver that speaks english if you can't... More

Their website is a sham. Nothing was true. For the area, it's probably the second decent one but for a nicer option which turned out to be cheaper for a double is Hotel Alajuela (it was $46). The manager there was nicer too. The shuttles to the airport are available but for limited times. Just Do NOT stay here. I... More

We arrive early afternoon after a long day of buses/ferries, we arrive inAlajuela for our last night in Costa Rica. I had booked a double private room online. When we arrive here, the Manager Mauricio told us there was an issue with our booking and the double room was no longer available so they put us in the "suite". He... More

I stayed here the night before my flight home from Costa Rica. It is nice because it is situated right next to buses that go the airport and to San Jose. They also have a shuttle to the airport but it only starts doing trips at 5am. They will call a taxi for you if you need to leave earlier.... More

Two double beds upon arrival was really one bed. The cleanliness was lacking as the bathroom smelled. I was disappointed and plan on telling the person that recommended it to me. They have lots of rules and I do not understand why because no one follows them. People were screaming and partying all night long so we had no sleep.... More

I did not stay in the hostel part of the place, but had a private room. Everyone is helpful and nice, and the place feels very safe and is run professionally with a real desk and helpful staff that don't make you feel like you are inconveniencing them (which I cannot say the same for Cala Inn). You really can't... More

I stayed in Alajuela only for one night, to fly on the next early morning with Sansa Air to Tambor. The Hostel looks very new from the outside, also the interior inside is really nice and modern. You have a fancy elevator in the centre of the building, which is ideal if you have much baggage, young friendly stuff and... More

This hostel was a great bet for a first night in CR. Only a cheap cab ride away from the airport (they also offer a shuttle), it was a nice, low-stress way to start our trip. It was very clean and we felt safe. It was, however, the most we paid for lodging the entire trip (we stayed at the... More

The room was big and seemed clean, however very noisy at night. They have a bar with a really nice view, the breakfast served here is good. On their website they claim to have tours, since we were spending two nights we had inquired about this in advance. When we arrived the person in the reception had no idea what... More

The ideal place to start your journey of discovering Costa Rica. Very close to the main San Jose airport with cheap and comfy rooms/dorms. Impressive service from Spanish and English speaking staff. Perhaps the best part about the place is the access to the rest of the country. From alajuela it is easy to access the old coca-cola bus station... More
