We stayed in this hostel the night before we left for the airport. It's very close and offers a shuttle service. We rented a private room with bathroom. Upon entering, the room smelled pretty bad.... We were able to air it out by opening a window. The bed was comfortable, but there was no top sheet for covers. They have... More

Central location so ok for a night or two to visit volcan poas. The room was ok but the place in general was pretty souless and dark. The staff were friendly enough but not particularly helpful. We found it expensive as well after staying in much nicer places for less on the rest of our trip.

The area in general didn't feel very safe but the hostel had 24 hour reception and only allowed guests inside. Even the restaurant upstairs was just for guests which was a plus. The restaurant had good prices and a nice view. The shared rooms are very small and mine smelled like feet and the a/c was broken. I was told... More

I had a nice time here, stayed one night before a flight out of San Jose. The room was clean and well lit with natural light. Hot shower. There is a small bar on the roof with nice views of the city. They also serve tasty pizza. I would recommend this hostel!

We stayed here two nights to see Vulcan Poas and for its proximity to the airport. The rooms are large and clean with comfortable beds and big showers. They are doing some updating so there are things not quite in operation . The airport shuttle was not a good match for our departure so we used a taxi. The early... More

Felt more like a hotel than a hostel. Nice big rooms with nice windows and AC and nice clean bathroom with hot showers. No lockers or kitchen which is inconvenient. Roof top bar was nice. Wifi worked good in the lobby but not great in the rooms, there was also computers downstairs to use. Free airport shuttle was great. Close... More

This hostel was clean, and had helpful staff. My favorite attribute of the hostel was its clean bathrooms. It was definitely large enough to accommodate all ten of our large group. The food at the bar was also quite satisfying. I would recommend this hostel to any person that might be planning on a trip to Costa Rica.

We stayed at this "hostel" the first night we arrived in Costa Rica. We arrived late at night (around 10pm) and took a taxi to the hostel. The price of the taxi was $10USD but I'm pretty sure we got ripped off. It should have been more like $4-5. So choose a taxi driver that speaks english if you can't... More

Their website is a sham. Nothing was true. For the area, it's probably the second decent one but for a nicer option which turned out to be cheaper for a double is Hotel Alajuela (it was $46). The manager there was nicer too. The shuttles to the airport are available but for limited times. Just Do NOT stay here. I... More

We arrive early afternoon after a long day of buses/ferries, we arrive inAlajuela for our last night in Costa Rica. I had booked a double private room online. When we arrive here, the Manager Mauricio told us there was an issue with our booking and the double room was no longer available so they put us in the "suite". He... More
