I started my trip here in the Alajuela "suburb" of San Jose, Costa Rica. This small hotel was booked sight unseen, and I was SO pleased. First of all, the staff is friendly and accommodating so that I felt right at home. The room which I had was simply furnished and very clean. Internet was complimentary and free. The property... Just one night here, but it was great. Well kept, clean, nice decor, and a nice dinner for $12 extra (fairly important, as the neighborhood us not walkable or nice; a strong gate made us feel completely safe). View of the nearby hill is lovely, the back gardens are well maintained and pleasant, and the staff was warm and fun... More

We had a very nice experience staying at Linda Montana the first few days we were in Costa Rica. This hotel is situated outside of Alajuela downtown, in the suburb surroundings. Alajuela is just a small city and a 10 minute car ride away. It is handy to have a car available. We, however, travelled Costa Rica with public transport.... More

This well run B&B Hotel is a short distance from the San Jose, Costa Rica airport, but in a quiet residential neighborhood, over a ridge away from any airport noise. The attentive and thoughtful staff is multi-lingual (at least German, English and Spanish - and possibly others) and is good at anticipating your needs. Transportation to and from the airport... My husband and I just visited Costa Rica for the first time, and we're so glad we chose to stay here. The hotel arranged for a shuttle to pick us up at the airport, and had our SUV delivered to us early the next morning (at a better rate than I could find online, and they threw in the GPS... More

We stayed at Vista Linda Montana at the beginning of our trip in Costa Rica and in the end. The friendly owner did a great job and we had a wonderful stay. She organized a pickup from the airport, we could leave all our luggage at her place for the 2 days we left to tortuguero, the breakfast and dinner... More

I can not agree with the the two below mentioned reviews. The rooms where totally clean and lovingly furnished. The dinner was delicious as well as the breakfast. The owner was totally friendly and gave us great advices. However, the one point I can agree with is that the hotel has wonderful surroundings and a breathtaking view. I enjoyed the... More

We stayed at Vista Montana as we had seen very positive reviews on Trip Advisor. Needless to say, we weren't exactly pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The room was basic (which I'm totally ok with) except that it felt like we were staying in a strangers basement. The room had a crib in it (portable one) which was not removed... More

Pros: - Nice view - Quiet (compared to the rest of Costa Rica!) - Easy, friendly booking - Close to the airport Cons: - The room was somewhat dirty. There were stains on some of the towels, the bathroom floor was dirty, and there were cobwebs and little bugs under the sink, on the walls and in the corners of... More
