We arrived to a very friendly staff member, or maybe the owner..not sure. He made sure to set up a free shuttle for us at 4AM!! I highly recommend this place. For the price, you cannot beat it, and free breakfast with a free airport shuttle. The location is good as it is close to downtown Alajuela, with everything in... More

free breakfast and kitchen access, nice staff, comfortable dorm. only minus for me was the location as it wasn't particularly convenient to the bus station, and that there wasn't a sense of community here. also a bit pricey (12/night) compared to other hostels i stayed at while in cr.

Clean place with nice staff (one spoke better english than the other). I had a private room with private bath. No windows in room but my door opened into the courtyard like area with fresh air. The wifi worked well. Felt safe especially with locked gate at night. Very easy to walk to restaurants and center of town. Took a... More

This is a basic hostel that provides transportation to the airport starting at 4:45 in the morning. It took us 5 minutes to get to the airport. The hostel is basic but cheap, rooms are not fancy but overall clean. The staff is friendly and ready to help you with any information. We booked a room with a private bathroom... More

If your plane is arriving late or leaving early from San José this place is for you! Operated by a friendly local family the hostel has clean rooms and decent amenities to rest after/prepare before your trip. Common areas clearly lack charm but you won't be spending time there anyway. The free shuttle TO the airport (no shuttle FROM the... More

We ended up staying a total of 8 nights here because my husband got ill. It all started off very positive when we arrived at 10pm and were given a free upgrade from the double with shared bathroom that we had booked to a double with an ensuite! The hostel is owned by a Costa Rican family, Alex and Matilde.... More

Good location. Room was very clean. Breakfast was big and very good. Staff was very friendly and helpful, arranging for a taxi to the airport. Overall a great value and we would definitely stay there again.

First thanks to Alex and his wife for the warm welcome we received. We stayed one night in the beginning of our trip and then two more before the flight back. We had a great stay, it's clean, they make free pancakes and cofee in the morning and we had a lot of great valuable information about getting around by... More
