We stayed here for two nights, which was fine. We payed $22,50 for a double private room with shared bathroom. Room was clean, but nothing special. Bathroom is a bit old, tiles coming loose etc., but was fairly clean. Cannot say much about breakfast, except be there early. First day, I had the last milk with cereal (no fruit left,... More

Great Place to stay with a Very friendly staff, free breakfast in the morning. I found it to be the cheapest hostel in Alajuela. It is very Close to the airport and market. The hostel is always clean. And the people working there will show you the best and cheapest places to go eat or check out. I Will be... More

We were not given the room that we reserved because they rented it to someone else before we got there. We were given a smaller room with one uncomfortable double bed. Our service dogs were made to feel unwelcome by the night shift person even though they advertize to accept pets. They locked the front doors so no one could... More

a hostel very close to the airport, with a great price and a great staff. Luis, the manager even recommended a clinic for medicine and a great little restaurant. I would definitely recommend to someone who does not want to deal with the hustle and bustle of San Jose.

We booked for three nights and when we reached the hotel the night guy told us our room was no available anymore because he was waiting for us. Because of the traffic we were late of 2 hours. He was rude and told us to call them but when you re a backpacker you ve not necessary a mobile. No... More

Alajuela is a great option to avoid San Jose if you need to go to the airport. And the hotel Cortez Azul is probably the best place to stay ! The owner is very nice and will do his best to provide you the room you need ! They have both private room and dorms. The whole house is clean... More

My husband and I ordered the hotel for one night through the Booking. The hotel is close to the airport near the center of the city. The guy from reception very nice and helpful. Helped us in everything we asked. First and most importantly-the price on booking is more expensive than offered by the hotel instead of himself. $ 20... More

I stayed here on a layover in Costa Rica. It was pretty empty and dark. Towels are not provided. Bed was not the comfiest. Good for a layover but I wouldn't recommend staying any longer! We paid $30 for private room with shared bath but it certainly wasn't worth $30.... I stayed in far cheaper, nicer private rooms in nicaragua.... More

We stayed here for one night. I booked a private room with bathroom. The place is pretty much what you'd expect for a "backpacker" type hotel. The staff is nice and helpful. Breakfast was cereal, toast and fruit. There was a safety issue with the hot water shower head. Otherwise, I'd stay there again. It was really inexpensive.

I stay there in November. im not really like big cities, thats why i was looking for a hostel around the airport. Alajuela its small, quiet, nice and safe, and only 10 min. away from the Airport. When i arrived on the evening in the Hotel Cortez Azul, (more a Hostel) there welcome me, evan without any booking. The workers... More
