Everybody knows Costa Rica hotels are pricey. For a guy like myself who enjoys a minimun stay of six weeks plus Cortez Azul offers you the best deal for your money.I had a private room with a double bed with a fan.The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable.Luis the manager went out of his way to make my... Although I only stayed one night, I have no complaints about this place. It was close to the airport and it was relatively cheap (for Costa Rica). The staff was friendly and helped me organize a bus to Fortuna. I'm glad I stayed here rather than in San Jose (which would have been a significantly more expensive taxi ride).

This "hotel" is very dark, and staff were not welcoming at all after a day of travelling to get there. They tried to overcharge us when we got there and the bathroom was upstairs from the room. The bed was too hard, the pillows were lumpy and non-existent. The room was clean and had a good fan. We won't be... More

I stayed at the same time Eva did. I had bedbug bites. I was in a different room. This was the first stay on this trip for me, and my backpack was new, so I did not bring them from elsewhere. I saw another guest with huge bedbug bites. I believe he was in yet a third room. When he... More

Great location as easy to walk to central Alajuela (5-6mns) The hotel is nice with a cute garden to relax and have breakfast. The owner is very sympathetic and could arrange anything for you. Some rooms need to be a little refreshed and some of them have no windows so it's not a place to chillout inside is private room... More

Booked a double room online for my girlfriend and I and when we arrived they didn't have our reservation. The guy at the front desk tried to hustle us for a room that was more than what we booked, when we told him the price we booked for and showed him their sign outside that had a cheaper price he... My girlfriend and I had spent a night before our flight from Santamaria airport. The hotel has a very big sign which, I believe, cost a lot of money. Too bad they didn't used it for investing their rooms. We were given a room that reminded me a prison cell (not really, but that was the first thong which came... More

Location of this hotel/hostel is good. Takes around 10 minutes (cab ride : 6-7$) to reach the International airport. Allowed check-in even at 11.30 pm. Room is very basic. But i think that's what you expect from a hostel for 30$ you can get much better hotel room in US. Breakfast is bare minimum. No toiletries were given , so... More
