I try to stay here or at the Courtyard next door because they are near several restaurants and the freway. It's a really nice and cozy place. The beds are comfy, the room is big enough, and it's easy to get to. As I said, great place. more

This older hotel is still clean and in good taste. The facility is maintained and kept very well. It's a step into the 1990's but for the money, it's a value. Had the opportunity to stay in Tuscaloosa for the night (Feb, 2007), on the way down to Baton Rouge and chose the Fairfield by Marriott ( on Courtyard Drive) from several hotels in the area. We ended up at this hotel due to the AC going out at our apartment. Our complex offered to reimburse us for a room, so we chose the Fairfield Inn because it was (a) close and (b) had a room available. There was a conference of some sort going on so several of the hotels in the area were booked.... more

The hotel rooms are clean and seem to be new. The wireless access is decent (500k download with 1.3meg upload - really!). I told them I wanted a room on the backside of the hotel (away from the interstate). Even on the backside, you can faintly hear the traffic, but it is not noticeable if the heater/AC fan is running. more
