I stayed here while touring the University of Alabama campus. The room was great! I was upgraded to a king suite when they did not have the room that I originally reserved. The shower had the best water pressure of any hotel I've ever been. What I liked most about this hotel is the proximity to the University of Alabama... more

I stayed here for one night (on business). Pros: - Close to UAlabama campus. - The room is large, clean and with standard amenities of a Hampton inn. - The staff is friendly. - Coffee downstairs is good. [The rooms have individual coffeemakers as well]. There's also breakfast in the morning, which offers a reasonable selection (both healthy and not... more

The hotel itself is very nice but unless you know when the steel mill is emitting that horrendous odor I would not advise you staying here... We awoke to the smell around 2AM and headed to the front desk to see what the problem was. The clerk said he didnt smell anything and even went to our 3rd floor to... more

This is a clean and well-run hotel that is very convenient to the University of Alabama campus. The best feature is the free gym pass you get as a guest there -- you can work out for free at a really nice gym about 5 minutes down the road. Much better than those horrible hotel workout areas. The second best... more

Clean rooms... quiet hotel. Front desk very helpful with adjoining rooms and baby crib. Decent breakfast...typical Hampton inn fare. Will return because it's easy on budget, and convenient access to T-town highways. more

we were staying one night. when we checked in at midnight we asked the clerk what the smell was in the air. he told us there was a steel plant nearby. it was too late for us to find anywhere else to stay, but we had respiratory problems, burning eyes, and nausea from the fumes in the air. we didn't... more

We will definitley stay at this hotel again. It was close to the university, had a great breakfast, comfortable bed, friendly staff and it was clean. The entrance was hard to find and we think they need refrigerators in the rooms but it will definitley be our first choice next time we visit. more

My family stayed at the Hampton University last month. My daughter was in Tuscaloosa for a softball tournament. We were impressed with the friendly staff throughout the hotel. Everyone seemed truly interested in making us (and our little ones) comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel when visiting Tuscaloosa. more
