The hotel itself is very nice but unless you know when the steel mill is emitting that horrendous odor I would not advise you staying here... This is a clean and well-run hotel that is very convenient to the University of Alabama campus. The best feature is the free gym pass you get as a guest there -- you can work out for free at a really nice gym about 5 minutes down the road. Much better than those horrible hotel workout areas. Clean rooms... quiet hotel. Front desk very helpful with adjoining rooms and baby crib. Decent breakfast...typical Hampton inn fare. Will return because it's easy on budget, and convenient access to T-town highways. more

We will definitley stay at this hotel again. It was close to the university, had a great breakfast, comfortable bed, friendly staff and it was clean. The entrance was hard to find and we think they need refrigerators in the rooms but it will definitley be our first choice next time we visit. more

My family stayed at the Hampton University last month. My daughter was in Tuscaloosa for a softball tournament. We were impressed with the friendly staff throughout the hotel. Everyone seemed truly interested in making us (and our little ones) comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel when visiting Tuscaloosa. more
