Our son and his fiancé held their wedding reception and rehearsal dinner at the North River Yacht Club, so our entire family and many of our friends spent the weekend at the Yellowhammer Inn. Our experience could not have been better. The facility itself was terrific (well-appointed rooms, attractive common areas and a wonderful lounge - the Apothecary - which... More

This is a wonderful botique hotel that is set on the edge of Lake Tuscaloosa, near the North River Yacht Club and Country Club. Each room has beautiful views of the woods that wrap around the rear of the property. The staff at the hotel is attentive and has often made special accommodations for us during our stays at the... Our daughter got married at the North River yacht Club this July. It was an incredible weekend. A large part of the weekend were our accommodations at the Yellowhammer Inn. It is a lovely building set in the woods on Lake Tuscaloosa. Every room has a beautiful view. The rooms were very clean and comfortable with all of the amenities... More

Not only is this a beautiful property nestled in the woods, with beautiful views from each room, and comfy beds, decks to enjoy the views, walking paths, nearby lake, but the staff out does themselves. The staff will go out of their way to make sure your visit is perfect in every way, and couldn't be more helpful or polite.... More

Some high school ladies have been getting together now for 10 years. This was the perfect fall get-away on the open football date. We booked a suite and had plenty of room to sit and chat. Bathroom was big, spacious and updated. Personnel were very friendly and helpful. The outside surrounding area was so quiet and peaceful. No highway noise... More

On a recent trip to Alabama and Tuscaloosa, I stayed at the Yellowhammer; I'm in the travel industry so my perspective is a bit more "from the inside". In summary this is an amazing gem of a property that has layers of "tarnish" and grime for years of lacking some true doses of TLC. On the positive side, the property... More

They put a hold on our debit card when we checked in. We checked out using a different card. They have not released the hold on the first card and it has now been 10 days. Please be careful when you check in to use the same card.

I was at Yellowhammer for a wedding and loved the location and my room was small but very nice. However, my room was not cleaned until very late in the day and the complimentary breakfast was disappointing at best. This small hotel could use some professional coaching, and then it could be great.

I have family in Tuscaloosa and recently came to town for a post-Thanksgiving visit. We have stayed at the Yellowhammer Inn many times in the past and I was very happy to get a room there for this visit. This Inn is very different from your typical hotel and may not be everyone's cup of tea, but we absolutely love... More

We stayed at the Yellowhammer Inn this weekend. This place is sitting in a beautiful area with the river and Yacht club on one side and a fabulous private country club golf course on the other. Bad news is the inn is old, dirty and not well kept. The bathrooms are reminiscent of a cheap motel, the heating and cooling... More
