First hotel on Wendy Wu tour, tired, stinky (cigarette smoke), thread bare towels, mouldy bathroom - I actually became sick because of my allergy to cigarette smoke which permeates everything, everywhere in this hotel. Avoid like the plague.

This was our last stop with our tour and was similar to the other hotels. Shower over the bath is handy as we needed to do washing. Free wifi in lobby and restaurant was great. Average hotel who's foyer promised much but the rooms delivered nothing. They were clean and basic. Firm beds. Very good selection of toiletries. The hotel is situated some distance from shopping areas.

This is a comfortable middle of the range hotel with nice rooms and, of course, the usual hard beds (but these didn't worry us). Stayed here with a tour company. It's quite a distance from the centre of Shanghai. The rooms are clean and maintained quite well. However, the whole place is very tired looking, particularly the restaurant. Breakfast is extensive and includes freshly made eggs or noodles. We found that the Chinese hotel guests were treated with more attention than the western guests.

Location: not really near any subway. Subway line 2 is about 10-15 minute walk which isn't too bad unless it is raining. Be prepared.
