Stayed here for a week on business during May 2015. It is an old hotel, which does definitely show in its facilities. The lobby and especially the dining area are in dire need of renovation. Funny most hotels would have it maybe the other way around, splendid looking lobby (to advertise their hotel), with sometimes lesser splendid rooms to follow.... More

The rooms are big and nice looking. The bathroom has a large tub and a shower. The sheets are changed daily. There's a safe in the room. If it weren't for the wifi, I'd be totally happy with the room. Trying to backup photos ranges from difficult to impossible. Even sending a photo in a email is problematic. The breakfast... More

The hotel is really old and it shows. It looks like even the staff does not care about the upkeep of the hotel. The rooms are spacious but unclean. Stayed here for 2 nights and would not stay here again! Lots of issues with the hotel. Main points listed below: * The room was dirty before I even checked in.... More

Hotel looks really nice: large rooms, large bathroom with separate tub and shower, nice furniture. . . but then when I sat on the bed to take my shoes off, I noticed trash and dust bunnies all over the floor. When I looked closer, the entire room floor was filthy. It had obviously not been vacuumed. I thought they had... More

This hotel is centrally located in Shanghai with easy access to the metro rail network. Rooms are large, ambience is great and service is nice. Some of there staff can speak decent English. This is of quite help in China where most people do not converse in English. Charges are reasonable given the services. Keep it up!

Large clean room, comfortable bed. Would have liked a brighter light by the bed for reading. Bathroom lighting is very odd: bright light over the bathtub drain, bright light over the toilet, but one can barely see at the sink/mirror. Very dim lighting in the hallways makes it difficult to see the room numbers on the door and insert the... More

Stayed here as part of a tour and was not disappointed. It is not a 5 star hotel but it is clean and comfortable and in an area with many restaurants and shopping. If walking around the block for exercise be careful of sidewalks that fall off suddenly into store entrances. One member of our group brook his elbow and... More

The hotel has good rooms, although the public facilities (e.g. lobby, restaurant) could use some renovation. The fitness center is essentially non-existent with broken equipment. Western food was OK. The hotel's advantage is that it is within walking distance to the Tian Zi Fang market that has a number of tiny shops offering pretty good deals on clothing, ceramics, jewelry,... More

In general, this hotel is fine. The hotel is well located and well priced for Shanghai, and staff can be very helpful. But the hotel should not be considered as a luxury hotel in any case. There are several items that should be corrected and that would make the stay much more enjoyable. First, the hotel can only provide one... More

Nice hotel and located in a fun area of Shanghai - very close to the French concession. Second hotel in China where there was a picture window between the bathroom and the main room - such an odd location for a picture window. Fortunately, one could lower a curtain to regain privacy in the bathroom
