This courtyard-style hostel was a very pleasant place to stay. The location is really great (once you know which exit from metro to take), the staff quite helpful and many amenities available. On the other hand, the rooms were quite cramped and the Wifi was a joke - even though there were like 10 hostel wifi networks, one could not... More

I actually spent several months here in 2013 and 2014, leaving in late-May of 2014, in a shared women's only dorm. It became something of a home to me, and, to be honest, I miss it. That's not to say it's perfect, but I'll discuss the pros and cons, and you can decide whether it would work for you. Pros:... More

The location of the hostel is great, located right next to the JW Marriott Tomorrow's Square - good for a point of reference and also to spend time in their lobby on 38th floor with nice fast wifi - and just a 5 minute walk from the metro. It is also within walking distance of Xintiandi (15 mins) and West... More

Great location by People's Station. Stayed in a six bed all-female dorm that was in a smaller building on a terrace separate from the main building. Dorm was very clean, big and bright with large lockers. Shared bathrooms were a bit dark and not that clean, but not terrible either. Guests seemed to be mostly Chinese tourists, not many foreigners.... More

I spent 2 days, one night here. Loved the facilities. Ate breakfast in the restaurant which was pretty good. The bar, common areas and overall environment was very pleasant and well decorated and really a great vibe. Great environment to meet travelers. Very scenic indoors but my room was super moldy. The receptionist mentioned the first floor rooms tend to... More

As a first time solo traveller, this hostel did nothing in the likes of scaring me off unlike the stories I read on the internet of hostels in Shanghai pre-arrival. The first thing that settled my nerves was the energy at this place, so sincere and full of passion throughout both the guests and the workers. In my first hour... More

Pros Great location Bathroom always clean Good price Cons 1.Bed mattress needs to be replaced - you can feel the springs when you lie on it. 2. Although the bed linen was fresh, it didn't feel clean - needs to be upgraded. 3. The rooms could do with a coat of paint. 4. If it's raining, you get wet walking... More

I stayed in a 6-person dorm room. The bed was extremely lumpy and worn down, you can feel the springs of the mattress. The cafe area is very nice and pretty, but the only bad part about it was that you cannot bring food to eat inside the nice cafe. There are tables outside of the cafe where you can... More

As the other reviews have been saying, the location for this hostel is hard to beat. It is close enough to Nanjing Lu and People's Square you are right in the thick of it, but not so close it doesn't still feel like a chill place to hang out. The bar area was nice, but it was a bit on... More
