We stayed in the Hyatt on the buns early September. It is already our 4th stay in this hotel. We really like it a lot. Service is great, as often in Hyatt. The view on the pudong and the bund is astounding. The hotel begins to be a bit old but it is well maintained and still in a very... More

I visited the Sunday Brunch a few weeks back and it is a very good one with a fresh selection of various seafood! Would have been nice with an introduction of the dishes but besides that everything was great and just the views of both the Bund and Pudong are something else!

Wonderful hotel for business and leisure travel. Location is great, a few minute walk to get to the Bund area. However, there isn't anything much around the hotel itself other than a couple of convenience stores and a pharmacy that smelled like a morgue. Regency Club - the best one that I have even been to! Nice, clean and cozy... More

I recently stayed at the Hyatt on the Bund while on a work trip to Shanghai. The check in staff was great and since I was on an extended stay, they did everything they could to ensure I would have a pleasant time without me having to ask for too many things. The breakfast buffet every morning was amazing, catering... More

View is the biggest selling point in this hotel , 5 mins walk to the bund. But it's a bit old and few of the rooms got smell. For me, this hotel it's only for business coz you can't find other restaurants, bus/train/tram station near by. Btw, their staff are very nice and the breakfast is very good, don't miss... More

Rooms are modern with great views of Shanghai which is the best part of Shanghai. Out door bar on top floor which is great in good weather. Restaurant on 30th floor very good and worth the visit. Buffet restaurant on second floor has one of the best variety of food I have ever seen from sushi, to local dishes to... More

Great view, spacious room, excellent restaurants, lovely gym facilities, friendly staff and extensive room service menu - what more can a business traveller want? I have been using this hotel since its "soft opening" many years ago and will happily continue to do so.

My 3-night stay was lovely. The room was very clean, spacious and felt luxurious. Stunning view of the Shanghai skyline from the room as well as from the rooftop bar. Walking distance to the riverfront boardwalk.

Reviewing as my daughter as I can't access my account. This hotel is a little tired and our room had a slight damp smell. However, from the moment we arrived after a difficult day's travel, Neil, the assistant rooms manager, won us over. He is the most impressive hotelier I've ever met. He upsold us to the club floor so... More

Staying in Hongkou

Neighborhood Profile
Hongkou
History oozes out of every fiber of the city, but Hongkou is a particularly notable neighborhood. Shanghai was a safe haven for about 20,000 Jews during the Second World War, and traces of this heritage can still be found in buildings and park monuments. Historic foreign relations aside, this neighborhood throws you into traditional Shanghainese life without taking you too far away from the city center. Some of the city’s best-preserved, ancient longtangs (laneway communities) and shikumen (Shanghainese lanehouses) are still in use as actual residences here. If you like to be surrounded by local faces, Hongkou is a great area to spend your time in. The football stadium, Duolun Lu and the North Bund area await should you need some entertainment.
