It's near the Korean district with modern decor and clienteles are mostly Korean. They have a great breakfast buffet included with the price of the room. And we all got a suite, the living room is sorta a waste of space. Much rather have a bigger room. Bathroom is clean and with shower stall only which is fine. Although not... More

As has been reported previously the hotel is located in the Korean district of Shanghai so one will expect it to be popular with Korean visitors. The hotel is well presented, modern looking with well proportioned rooms which are clean with free wifi which on occasions a little slow but not a major issue. The breakfasts were aimed at the... Great small hotel that looks sort of ok from the front but inside it is vey spacious and the rooms are huge. A bit away from the Bund but that is reflected in the price. Breakfast was pretty much Chinese (no surprise this far out of the main area) but the staff we're helpful. Room was huge and had a... More

Good standard rooms, but very much based on Korean tour groups and business travellers, very few western guest, but was well looked after, reception very friendly, free WIFI, restaurant very limited for western food, breakfast just one or two items from the buffet, terrible coffee machine, could not keep up with demand. Dinner again just a few choices for western... More

A collegue booked this property for me due to location and I was pleasantly surprised. Not sure why a previous review stated no WiFi in the rooms as I am posting this review from a room via WiFi. Yes, the beds are firm but most in Asia are from my experience. Breakfast buffet is very decent with a wide variety... More

WARNING: While this hotel claims to be a western style 4 star business hotel, but it is really a 2.5 star hotel set-up for Korean tour groups. (It is in Shanghai's Korea town) My girlfriend asked me to stay here because it was 20 min from her apartment. - what a mistake. I here for 2 weeks while visiting my... More

A wonderful business hotel - the bedrooms are very comfortable. I had meetings with customers in the restaurant and found the Sandwiches to be very fresh, and the spaghetti Bolognaise was very typical of western Bolognaise. I felt very at home and comfortable - the staff all speak very good English and can arrange taxi to the airport for a... More

My stay here was because of an overnight stop between arriving from the US and an onward flight next morning. The hotel is not as close to Hongqiao Airport as their website would have you believe but it was close enough and I'm glad I stayed there. My room, well suite actually, was beautiful and high up so I could... More

I liked the hotel as it was not far from Hong qiao station/airport. Convenient. Has everything nearby. Bank for currency exchange. Coffee. Sandwich shop. Department store. Hotel charges extra for breakfast which is not standard in China. Massage service in hotel not so good. Reception and bell service very helpful. Rooms and bathrooms spacious and comfortable.

The room without windows was a good deal. I was checking in at midnight and just sleeping the night. The room is beautiful, large, clean and comfortable. The ventilation was very good. The service was good. The people were friendly but expect poor to ok English. Location is far from Pudong Airport but close to the Hongqiao Airport.

Staying in Gubei / Hongqiao / Minhang

Neighborhood Profile
Gubei / Hongqiao / Minhang
West of Shanghai’s better-known business, cultural and entertainment centers, lies an expansive area of residential neighborhoods peppered with lifestyle pockets that have their own unique attractions. The schools have formed pockets of international communities throughout Gubei, Hongqiao and Minhang. Quite a few entertainment and shopping centers have built up over the years to cater to these communities. While living here means you are relatively far away from Shanghai’s usual hot spots, the large parks, spacious homes and proximity to great Japanese and Korean food keep the neighborhoods popular.
