Previously using Oakwood and Ascott Residence's before, the Somerset Xuhui was the biggest disappointment. Extremely dated. Terrible smell in the Gym/Pool area. Although clean, room is very basic; bed uncomfortable. I checked out the day after. Thanks but no thanks Somerset Xuhui. I definitely would not recommend this to traveller's who enjoy luxury accommodation on their trips..! more

Stayed at Somerset Xu Hui for nearly 6 weeks as I recently relocated to Shanghai. This was my 4th time in a serviced residence, and by far the most dissapointing. We were traveling with parents in their 70s and 2 kids, 10 & 13, and decided to take a 2 bedroom apartment and were very happy that we did. Clean rooms with large closets, one with an attached bathroom. Airconditions in each bedroom and the living room that worked very well, and a well appointed kitchen with a washing/drying machine.... more

Family of four stayed in 2 bedroom apartment and a single stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment. Both rooms spotlessly clean everyday. One-day laundry service was extremely convenient. Indoor pool was clean, but it's pretty steamy in the room. The locker rooms were clean and well tended. My biggest complaint was the restaurant breakfast buffet - it was really terrible.... more
