Although it is little far from city center it is easly connected by metro line. Nice private big room with wester style wc with shower. IT is cover by high buildings but i found this area as quite silent. I enjoyed local market .... just 100m from the hostel. Subway is just app 300-400meters far.

This is a traditional youth hostel but with single rooms. I stayed in one, cost about US$30/night which is a pretty good deal. The place is big, great place to meet fellow travelers. Pros: clean safe comfortable sleeping, with in room A/C. On premises food, drink (incl beer), laundry, mail, lounging sofas and tables, music (mostly Western, one song was... More

This is the second time that i stayed in city central hostel, this last time was the worst experience of all of my travels,i've spent 4 weeks there. How to start! The check in, i arrived at 8h30 am after a 21 hours flight, the reception told me to wait until 13h30 to get my room because the place was... More

Stayed here after being recommended by the sister hostel in Beijing. This hostel offers cheap accommodation, this is a very large hostel with 6 floors, rooms are small but clean. There is only wifi in the lobby and it sometimes works in the bar/restaurant. Brilliant location right next to a metro station

Objectively this is a safe place to stay. The hostel is easy to find, close to a subway station, the wifi in the lobby is reasonably good, food nice. Though be warned non smokers, the reliable internet is only available in smoking areas. However as someone who reads reviews I ask you not to stay in this place based upon... More

I can't believe anyone would choose this place over somewhere like Le Tour Hostel. I can only assume that like me, this one turns up more frequently in search results. It's dirty. The bathrooms are small. The dorms are small and there was definitely leftover rubbish from occupants long, long gone. There's also only six seats in the reception area... More

PROS: good backpacker atmosphere with a mostly young crowd... there's a large bar/restaurant good for hanging out... breakfast was pretty good (make sure you mention if you like your eggs anything but overdone) CONS: I'm pretty sure this place is a hotel turned hostel, 6 floors makes for a lot of guests and therefore a somewhat apathetic staff. You don't... More

Clean, well run, convenient location (subway to town very close) and reasonably priced. Stayed in both a double room which was great (we were lucky to have a corner room) and then in a bunk which was decent. Could do with wireless throughout the building and something special to make it stand out (hence 4*s not 5) but otherwise great.

I stayed in a private en-suite room for 2 weeks in this hostel. The room was booked at a discount rate which was slightly cheaper than other chain budget hotel here in Shanghai. The location is nice, with metro line 3,4 and 11. There's a modern shopping mall nearby, post office, restaurants, and convenient stores. The neighbourhood is decent and... More
