The reception area is ok but no where to sit and no one to help with bags. The reception gives the impression that this is a nice boutique hotel. But don't be fooled. The rooms do not match this impression. We checked-in, grabbed the key, took the lift to the 3rd floor and strangely the room was open. We stayed... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here for two days and it was perfect for what we needed but it could use some updating. Also, this isn't central or "touristy" Shanghai, so it does require some knowledge of the metro lines (easy) and a willingness to be in a very non-English area. I personally really enjoyed it-staff was friendly and the... More

My wife and I stayed at the hotel for 10 nights and found it to provide excellent value. The hotel staff were always helpful and when we were in need of extra hangers...blanket...etc they were very prompt in delivering the items. The breakfast was filling. Overall, I have no difficulty in recommending the Asset Hotel!

When we arrived we were checked in promptly and taken to our room. The food in the hotel restaurant was small choice but very good, all the staff were happy and very helpful. The shower was really good and hot.

This hotel is not easy to find. Me an my boyfriend were wandering around for about 30 minutes in really heavy rain but could't find it. Even though we had a map and the exact address. Thankfully a group of young men helped us getting a taxi, which drove us about 300 meters further in a small ally and there... More

The concierges were all very helpful from the moment we arrived to the time we had to leave. We were very pleased with the accommodations we had for our six-night stay. For most of our stay, we had the sole ground-floor room, which has a spacious bathroom with a roll-in shower and overlooks with nice views. Also many great restaurants nearby. I... More

Best hotel for value in Shanghai, Great service from check in to departure. And it's easy to find even by taking the Metro. (Exit at Dong An and follow the directions on the hotel's site). Spent 3 nights there and used it as a return point fhome after visitng Vietnam and Cambodia. They stored our shopping luggage at no extra... More

Your certainly cannot complain for the good level of service and comfort for the price paid. In London, Paris, or New York, the price would easily be very much higher. The owner/investor has started refurbishments, and these are being done without noise and minimal interruption to guests. For it's price and location, I doubt whether you could find better.

I spent 5 nights here on a recent trip to China. The hotel was very easy to find, coming by metro from Shanghai railway station, located itself halfway between 2 metro stations – about 10 minutes walking from either one. The hotel is hidden away between residential tower blocks – despite the hotel itself only having 3 floors – which... More
