The hotel is perfectly located. Although it's 4 star but staff were very cooperative and welcoming. They had almost no knowledge of English but I could it make through Baidu translator. Rooms were small but perfectly decorated. Breakfast had limited choice but still sufficient.

My husband and I stayed here upon exiting Shanghai after living here. It was close to where we were living so it was an easy choice. Unsure of what to expect (Hotels that are aimed at the Chinese tourist/ business type clients can be hit and miss) we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly, efficient and spoke simple English... More

This hotel was a pleasant surprise for me and my colleagues. First of all - it is simply beatiful, and the first impression was: WOW. Second - it is well locatated: quite in a center of Shanghai, almost equidistant from both airports and a short walk to a metro line. The room was clean and convenient. Now to drawbacks: The... I have stayed at this Hotel many times over the last 7 years. It's now getting popular due to location and price. I stay here for business and its in a nice Garden area close to Line 1 Metro, which has great connections to both airports (Metro line to Maglev direct to PuDong) and also to line 11 direct to... This really is a standout hotel - and prices are so reasonable! It is located on a quiet street, just 5 minutes walk from Hengshan Street metro station (or 10 minutes from Zhaojiabang Rd). The hotel itself is set in beautiful spacious grounds. The room I had was a standard double room - reasonable size and very nicely appointed. A... More

Breakfast Buffet offered very little if you wanted Healthy Western Food. Only white bread, cereals had little fibre content and water for tea was luke-warm. The fruit was overripe and the vegetables were over cooked. At the main restaurant only Chinese cuisine was on offer. Gym hours of 9-21.00 hrs. meant you could not use it before work or even... beautiful old villa style hotel, in the suburbs. When I went for a walk, I noticed several embassy's nearby. Had grounds and was gated. big balconies , but they were shared with another room, so could not get out on to them. When I asked was told it was a security issue. Also had difficulty getting a taxi one afternoon,... More

Set in the French Concession area this is the perfect location to explore Shanghai. Walk along the Bund, take a ferry trip by night. All great experiences. Just be aware that the population of Shanghai is over 20 million so it can take some time to get around!

This was our first hotel while touring China. The hotel is situated in the formal French Quarters, 1 hour from the airport. The hotel is clean and situated in a quiet area. It has a quaint little bar where one can enjoy a drink at the end of a busy sightseeing day. The staff have little understanding of the English... More

Stayed for 2 nights as part of a Wendy Wu Tour. Situated in a garden courtyard behind high walls in the old French Concession area of Shanghai. Quite location being some distance from the CBD/Bund. A number of small shops/restaurants within walking distance + a Metro station. The room was surprisingly large as was the bed although by Western standards... More
