Stayed here on the first leg of a Wendy Wu Tour. The room itself was very comfortable - it was big enough for two people, and the beds were nice and hard, and very comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and well appointed. As with most Chinese hotels, the room included a free bottle of water on a daily basis... More

We arrived in Shanghai late afternoon and reached the hotel about 7pm. We were taken straight to Dinner and left the cases near the lifts while we ate. The tour guides sorted all the check in and we got to the room around 9pm. This hotel was comfortable and better than I expected after reading other reviews. Breakfast offered Western... More

I stayed in this hotel for a couple of nights. I can say the location is very central. Close to Nanjing Road and also few blocks away from Huaihai Road (both very commercial streets in Shanghai). Also close to the metro station line 2, you can walk to Nanjing West Station (10 min). About one block away from the "Former... More

The rooms at this hotel are not enormous, but that wasn't a problem. The bathroom too, is compact, but it's got the facilities that you need, and the water pressure was good in the shower. The hotel provides face cloths, as well as hand towels and bath towels. It also has a toothbrush and comb in case you needed one.... More

Stayed here as first stop on Wendy Wu tour after flight from Brisbane to Shanghai, via Hong Kong. Reception very good, although everything handled by our tour guide Tony Li. Rooms very comfortable with all amenities needed. However, if you like a cup of tea there is only one black and one green tea bag per couple. Coffee was there,... More

I stayed in this hotel in AUG 15 for 5 nights. Likes about this hotel are 1. Very nice location. Near to subway line 2 west nanjing station. Bund and people's square are nearby. If you don't mind strolling then you can walk and see them. 2. Subway line 2 connects it to both pudong and hongqiao Airport. 3. Budget... More

The hotel has a very good location, which is near West Nanjing subway - around 10 mins walk only. However, rooms are not that clean, no windows in the single/double room, and the AC is very bad! We stayed for 3 nights coming from Beijing in July 2015. The hotel is overall an old hotel, and the carpets in the... More

We stayed here as the first stop on a Wendy Wu tour - jet lag and a rather rough flight meant we didn't fully appreciate the area but it's well situated for shopping and eating outside of formal tours. Rooms were decent enough & clean - despite being a no smoking room there was a smell of smoke but that... More

Make sure you have a copy of the hotels details in Chinese! From either airport catch the train to Peoples Square station and get a taxi (if you have heaps of luggage) or you can walk (10mins) from West Nanjing Road station. No wifi in room (disappointing) but the lobby and function rooms both have wifi. Breakfast was average -... More

Staying in Jing'an

Neighborhood Profile
Jing'an
The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
