The hotel has a very good location, which is near West Nanjing subway - around 10 mins walk only. However, rooms are not that clean, no windows in the single/double room, and the AC is very bad! We stayed for 3 nights coming from Beijing in July 2015. The hotel is overall an old hotel, and the carpets in the... More

We stayed here as the first stop on a Wendy Wu tour - jet lag and a rather rough flight meant we didn't fully appreciate the area but it's well situated for shopping and eating outside of formal tours. Rooms were decent enough & clean - despite being a no smoking room there was a smell of smoke but that... More

Make sure you have a copy of the hotels details in Chinese! From either airport catch the train to Peoples Square station and get a taxi (if you have heaps of luggage) or you can walk (10mins) from West Nanjing Road station. No wifi in room (disappointing) but the lobby and function rooms both have wifi. Breakfast was average -... More

the hotel was the first hotel we stayed at on our 9 day tour in China. The rooms were fine, the bed was the most comfortable we were to sleep in for the duration of our trip. The bathroom would have been great - it just needed a good clean!! The staff were lovely but maybe at least one person... More

A rarity in China, a hotel with floors 12-17 being truly non-smoking was a great relief. We had a large room with 2 beds, 2 arm chairs & a small table, a nice bathroom with a tub/shower combo. Our room overlooked a major road, but there was no noise. The hotel is in a nice, upscale area with restaurants, shops,... More

I stayed here as a part of a group tour to China. It's a good hotel with all the basic amenities a hotel needs. I did have s small issue with the shower, but mentioned it to the receptionist and it was quickly resolved.

We were lucky to get a nice corner room, with views to the east and north (from the bathroom). Everything worked nicely in the room, and the 'European' breakfast was well catered. Rooms were clean and spacious, and a good location to get to other parts of Shanghai. My only complaint was that the window didn't close fully, so there... More

We stayed at this hotel for two nights at the end of our tour of China. The room was very small the bathroom even smaller, the air con eventually cooled it down but needed to be on full all of the time. The rooms are clean and the bed was comfortable. We had a meal in the restaurant here but... More

Stayed here as part of a Wendy Wu tour. In our original room the Air Conditioning system was barely functional and extremely noisy with almost nil airflow into the room. As the daytime temperatures was in the region of 33 - 34 degrees the air in the room was stifling. Also the room stank of cigarette smoke although designated as... More

Staying in Jing'an

Neighborhood Profile
Jing'an
The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
