I booked a room on arrival, the price of 300rmb for 2 people per day. Very good location, the staff speak good English (compared to other hotels in China) but are a bit rude (like most Chinese) Medium size rooms, no dryer and wifi. I believe as they provide value for money regardless of the location.

The Nanjing Hotel is right off of the pedestrian street, Nanjing Road, which is full of throngs of strollers enjoying the ambiance. You cannot find a more perfect landing spot in Shanghai. This hotel is only a step away from Nanjing road and about 10 min walk from the bund. Rooms are comfortable but crowded with furniture, air conditioning wasnt working which made things uncomfortably hot in the room. Bathrooms are adequate. No wifi! Good value hotel, nothing fancy but suitable for budget conscious travelers who want to be close to the subway, shops and within walking distance of the Bund. Restuarants opposite the hotel aren't the bext, so stretch your legs to find somewhere tastier.

Lovely rooms with all the modern comforts you would hope to get and a great location, 100 meters from the main shopping street and only a short walk to the bund, people's square and a tube station right around the corner. Shanghai itself very busy but a good experience.
