Hotel needs reservation urgently; very old and dirty carpets; part of suspended ceiling fell down; dirty curtains, no non-smoking rooms available at check-in. Staff could barely speak English. WiFi was extremely slow and had several breakdowns

I had to stay here as part of a study tour. I am probably used to a 4-5 star standard and this is a 3 at best. To make your stay more enjoyable ask for a room on the non-smoking 8th floor. The higher floors are also the renovated floors. I stayed here twice over a two week period with... More

I stayed here for two week and i have to stay I have never been more dissatisfied with a hotel. The room I stayed in had a very smelly bathroom. Like the drainage was not good and I felt like I was sleeping next to a sewerage the whole time. The beds were too hard and very uncomfortable. The carpet... More

Very hard beds, carpet is very old and wifi is below average. I stayed here with a large group of 50-60 people. Some people didnt even have a shower in their room. We only stayed here because we had too, I would imagine there is better places to stay out there.

Staying in Gubei / Hongqiao / Minhang

Neighborhood Profile
Gubei / Hongqiao / Minhang
West of Shanghai’s better-known business, cultural and entertainment centers, lies an expansive area of residential neighborhoods peppered with lifestyle pockets that have their own unique attractions. The schools have formed pockets of international communities throughout Gubei, Hongqiao and Minhang. Quite a few entertainment and shopping centers have built up over the years to cater to these communities. While living here means you are relatively far away from Shanghai’s usual hot spots, the large parks, spacious homes and proximity to great Japanese and Korean food keep the neighborhoods popular.
