Stayed in this hotel for some business trips several times. The hotel had newly-renovated rooms although a bit run-down on the outside. The surrounding areas are busy with small stores selling clothes, accessories and shoes...and more shoes. There are 2 Chinese Restaurants attached to the Hotel. The one on the Second Floor doubles as the Breakfast Lounge and Seafood Restaurant,... More

3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2010

We have recently spent 6 nights in this hotel. We were very satisfied. The room was pleasant - overlooking a schoolyard. The room and bathroom were clean and the room provided a fridge, kettle and an over-the-bath retractable washing line! The bed was a Chinese hard bed but we were comfortable. The area is fine - Pizza Hut next door,... More

Staying in Gubei / Hongqiao / Minhang

Neighborhood Profile
Gubei / Hongqiao / Minhang
West of Shanghai’s better-known business, cultural and entertainment centers, lies an expansive area of residential neighborhoods peppered with lifestyle pockets that have their own unique attractions. The schools have formed pockets of international communities throughout Gubei, Hongqiao and Minhang. Quite a few entertainment and shopping centers have built up over the years to cater to these communities. While living here means you are relatively far away from Shanghai’s usual hot spots, the large parks, spacious homes and proximity to great Japanese and Korean food keep the neighborhoods popular.
