I was surprise to find a hotel that is back-to-back to the Peace Hotel on the bund and a stone throw from Nanjing East road. The price is very affordable and include breakfast. The hotel is beautiful and had the classic neo-1930s feel. Location is everything here. Less then 500m is the bund and the tourist tunnel train. Metro on... More

I got a deal for a windowless room and was surprised by hotel decoration. The classy furniture and many mirrors made me forget how small the room was. It made for a pleasant stay, but I still noticed the bathroom is an aging plastic box, with chipped parts and a few stains. And the hotel's hallways don't seem to get... More

The location was excellent. Close to a metro stop, the riverfront, and the pedestrian mall. While the AC might have cooled a bit better it was adequate. My room did not have a window. The room was clean. I considered it a very good value overall and would certainly stay there again.

i stayed in Manhattan twice back in 2010 and 2012, cheap price considering the good location, walking distance to subway and the shopping center, the building itself is really beautiful but i suggest them to upgrade the facilities really soon, it's an old building and the room is specially small even for tiny Asians! they have a quite cute lobby ,but everything... We booked our reservation with C-Trip and upon arrival we were told that the hotel was full. We insisted that we had made reservations and showed the receipt as proof. The attendant had advised for us to go somewhere else and come back the next day. Scary experience considering never having visited China and not having knowledge of the language.... More

Was not a luxury building but was very nice. The room was small but we were aware of that going in so that was fine. Felt safe. Location worked well for walking to metro and sights. Employees were very pleasant and helpful. Some other Americans were also staying here. Would stay here again. If your looking for a tours/concierge this... More

Considering the huge amount of choice one has when they visit Shanghai, I would highly recommend looking else where if terms of accommodation. First impressions were very good, the building itself is beautiful however, the good first impressions soon vanished after visiting my room. I am in the process of moving to another hotel so I'll make this short. Bad... More

I wanted a cheap hotel with a convenient Bund location -- and this definitely fit the bill. I paid around US$50 for my final night in Shanghai. The hotel is on a side street just off the Bund, and within walking distance to shopping and restaurants. There is a subway stop about five minutes away, too. The room was just... More

So many hotels I visit are the same. The same furniture, the same colour scheme. They are satisfactory but they are monotonous. This hotel breaks with that business hotel style. It is furnished in the 1930's Art Deco style throughout. This is very in keeping with the location, just of the Bund and Nanjing Road which were built during the... More

As other reviewers have said, it's a really tightly packed room with an even tighter packed bathroom! I had no window / natural light, so indeed it was dim, but I slept like a baby. It was kept spotlessly clean whilst I was there. I was travelling solo, so for me it was absolutely fine. Good location not far from... More
