Located in the middle of Shanghai's Jing An district, Equatorial was an dated hotel with a recent face lift. If you are a business person looking for a comfy and quiet room to return to, and would prefer not to overspent on the Shangri-las and the Ritzs nearby, this is your best bet in the area.

The hotel is very well situated for exploring the surrounding area of the French concession and also to move to Nanjing road. Nearby is the temple Ji'ang subway that takes you to anywhere in Shanghai, are perhaps the most difficult access to the hotel is walking the elevated walkways, but everything happens when you reach the hotel. The reception entrance... More

Our stay while visiting Shanghai was very pleasant. The amenities were superior and the complimentary breakfast was great. This would be a great hotel to return to. We can depend on superior quality. The central location facilitates getting around Shanghai's top tourist sites.

I stay in this hotel 5-6 times a year whenever I am in Shanghai for business. But this last stay is very disappointing. The internet is so slow, I gave up in the end. The hotel is undergoing renovations, but other aspects suffered. I ordered dinner one night in the restaurant, and was served soup with NO bread roll, drink... More

Really good location by Jing An Temple and a lot of shopping, food, going out spots. This is a pretty huge hotel. The service was pretty decent, and it definitely had the appearance of a 4-star spot, but for some reason it didn't feel that way. Have you ever eaten lunch over your laptop and smudged the screen trying to... More

This hotel is huge and really nice but it's dated and the whole place smells like cigarette smoke. First, we were given a room on the 16th floor but couldn't stand the smell of smoke in this nonsmoking room so we asked to move. They moved us to the 18th floor which was much better bc we could actually breath.... More

I stayed here due to the location, as it is very close by my office. On check-in, I got the hard sell of an upgrade to 'new' deluxe rooms which come with Wi-Fi. I purchased the upgrade and was disappointed. The rooms were obviously very new, so new it still had dust and dirt from the builders. Internet was patchy... More
