For starters the location of this Hotel was key for my 5 night stay. Located 10-15 minute walk from XuJiaHui (BuyNow, Grand Gateway) and about 8-10 minute walk away from HengShan Lu Subway stop on line 1. The staff are friendly depending on who you may get. A couple of the staff were not so helpful/impolite, but during check out... More

The Wanping hotel was, and maybe is, owned by the tax authority. It has a spartan, stringent, and formal feel. The property was, and possibly is, meant primarily for Chinese travellers, although breakfast has western options. It is a 4-star property, and thus choice is limited. Yet, the bigger need is renovation, from the English letters on the façade to... More

We were there for 3 nights in the December. At the time, it was quite cold in Shanghai, so the heat, comfortable blankets and decent hot water pressure were all welcome. The room comes w/ small perks including combs, q-tips, body lotion, slippers, robes, 2 bottles of complimentary water each day and a safe. The safe didn't work at first... More

I prepaid for a Parkview non-smoking room and stated clearly that I need a non-smoking room as I was travelling with a three-year-old. However, when I checked in I was informed that they ran out of non-smoking room (poor planning on their part). They upgraded me to the executive room, which has very modern and nice decor, the mattress and... More

The hotel location is next to Xujiahui Park and a gas station, on Wanping road. The road gave the hotel its former name, and the park its present name. Sometime it is confusing, because many facilities in the hotel still bearing the former name. The rooms are spacious with nice bathrooms. The breakfast is ok. Close to the hotel (less... More

The room was of a great size for a near-city centre hotel. Very comfy and I thought the decoration was lovely and full of taste. I had a corner room and had great views out on to the park and streets below. The main staff didn't have a great knowledge of English but did their very best to get by... More

we rate this hotel 3.5 stars. 2% of the entire staff put together speak english. The hotel beds are harder than rocks.. We were there for 7 days and got our linen changed once. The entire hotel smelt of smoke no matter what room you were in. If you are on a short stay i would reccommend this hotel but... More

Front desk was very efficient and helpful. Manager can speak good enough English. Room was good size, enough fro two people to move around and store luggage. Comfortable beds and nice decoration- a bit Hilton style like. Bathroom was big enough, and hotel provided a full set of complimentary toiletry amenities. Location is a bit off, about 15 minutes walk... More
