Charms Hotel is in the best location, near People's Square Station, near nanjing road , near restaurant and many shops. The room is old style but space is okey. Breakfast is normal , rice, dumpling, egg , salad and fruit. Service is good.

I wanted to stay close to Nanjing Road and stay on a tight budget and this hotel was fantastic. It was clean and didn't smell of cigarettes, which sadly if you travel around China is usually a problem in hotels. The location was amazing and a few minutes walk to the metro station. There were plenty of local eateries just... More

The problem: there was a glass panel separating the toilet/bathroom from the bedroom. There were no blinds/curtains or any way to cover up the view. End result? Your roommate or partner, whilst relaxing on the bed and watching TV, may accidentally and innocently cop a full view of you taking a dump. I don't know about everybody else, but as... More

This hotel would have to be a highlight for my Chinese visit and I couldn't recommend it more highly. The location is great, close to line 2 metro line (goes to both international airports), fairly much on Nanjing street and only a km or two to The Bund. The people's square is only a few hundred meters away as well.... More

positives; for a rate of less than 500rnb in the city centre a 3min walk from a main metro station, main shopping street and from Peoples Square etc and only 10 minutes to Bund and etc, this is a 'steal' the rooms are spacious enough, comfortable, lots of plugs, minibar frigo, micro oven, kettle; bed has good mattress and 2... This hotel is next street to famous Nanjing Street and relatively inexpensive. Has free wifi but breakfast only offers local Chinese varieties. Room has windows but.....nothing to see. Overall this hotel is worth staying but not more than 3 days.

I stayed in this hotel for 6 days and will share the positives and negatives as follows: Positives: Good location for the hotel and nice property. Clean rooms and prompt housekeeping. Good breakfast spread (mostly Chinese). Very good sleep quality (Additional brownie points to the hotels for this aspect). Cheap as compared to other hotels in the vicinity. (Book through... More

If you want a proper night, don't go to this place. The real ranking is 3 stars instead of 4 (at booking.com), but I would not give it even 2 stars. The rooms are dirty and really not hygienic! The smell of cigarettes is everywhere (even in no smoking rooms) and service is bad! The breakfast is terrible! Only the... More
