What better location than just off the Bund, with a view of Pudong's futuristic buildings on the left hand side, and the nineteenth century imposing buildings of the Bund on the right! A great buffet breakfast with that kind of view makes the day start off in the best of moods and energised for the whole day! Walking distance from... More

Where to start? Management at this hotel are asleep at the wheel. Forget about continuous improvement they seem to specialise in take it or leave it. The staff are poorly trained, with little English and poor attitudes. The check-in staff were the worse, take it or leave it, with attitude. I think they preferred that you leave. The Spa on... We were traveling to Shanghai for a Fair, my friend reserved this hotel without checking previous reviews (huge mistake), we had a room for on the 6th floor which is supposedly non smoking but everywhere smell to cigarette, that is no big deal, but I must complain about the carpet, so dirty that it makes you think about wearing shoes... On the positive side of things, this hotel is perfectly situated just a stone's throw from the Bund - one of the most spectacular waterside walks on the face of the planet. However that's where it ends. Our biggest complaint was that we booked a non-smoking room, but when we reached our room it stank of cigarette smoke, and all... More

Hotel is on The Bund itself, perfect location, all around you want to visit in Shanghai center is basically on walking distance. Rooms are clean but not exceptional. We stayed with 2 kids and for shower was available 2 big towels so we asked for 2 more but they said it is not possible and we can only get it... More

The location of the hotel was great with it being close to The Bund. The price was really good and the charm of the hotel is nice. However, there are a few areas which really made this a disappointing stay. 1. Smoking. Only the 2nd floor contains non-smoking rooms. If we wanted one we had to pay an extra $35... More

We stayed here for one night while we were in transit but I could have stayed more. This this an older hotel, but it has so much charm. If you are looking for modern, not the place. But if you enjoy heritage and beauty this is the place for you. It's within walking distance from all of the hotspots on... More

Older building, nice sized rooms, clean and tidy but a bit dated. Close enough to city centre. Friendly staff, we asked to be moved to another floor level because they were making alterations and we could hear the noise, we were moved with no problems straight away.

We asked our tour agent to book us into court yard or interesting accommodation. This was our first hotel in China and we were not disappointed. The front of the hotel was not very impressive although the foyer was pleasant. When I got to my room it was whow!! The view was just exceptional. Overlooking the river, The Bund and... More

We arrived at the hotel at the end of a quite exhausting holiday. Our first problem was that having booked a twin we went to the room to find it was s double. As we are 2 female family members this was just not acceptable. Back to reception , where no one spoke enough English to be able to understand... More
