This place was perfect, getting in from the little airport in Shanghai, it is a 10 minute cab ride. It is much bigger than the pics describe. I checked out by phone when I left, so they contacted me to tell me t hey were charging me another night since I didnt check out at the desk. I told them... more

Marriott Shanghai HongQiao Stayed 10 days at this hotel I had a room looking out into the courtyard and it should have been quiet but it wasn’t - Very poor sound insulation between rooms so you hear next door’s TV, people going to the bathroom, talking etc, the guy next door to me seemed to have a new girlfriend each... more

An international conference was located here for Monday-Wednesday but due to the distance from the city center and long hours of the conference (8am-6pm) there wasn't time to explore Shanghai without taking a taxi anywhere. The neighborhood is a suburb where wealthy Shanghainese move to show their wealth, but the 27RMB ($4 US) it takes to get to the French... more

Stayed at this hotel. No atmosphere in this hotel in the day. The bar is livlier at night with a singing duo act on. Preferred to go out to the local restaurants. Very good Chinese food around the corner. Rooms a good standard as expected for this type of hotel. Breakfasts ok, good croissants. Has a lovely pool area which... more

My weeklong stay was for business, and cost about $120/night. The location is out on the west side, not near the Bund, Old City, or any of that, but there are plenty of restaurants and stores on Hongmei Lu, Gubei, or Tienshan Lu. The City Market at Hongmei & Hongxu and the Gubei Mall have all the imported groceries &... more

meeting some business friends at this hotel near the hongqiao airport. it is a 15 min taxi ride from the city center. the ambience and live music is great in the airy lobby. it seemed to be a good hotel for business travelers that do not care about city center and quick want quick in-and-out access to shanghai. more

Ask for non smoking room for best chance of upgrade. Superb cleanliness, beautiful decor and super quiet executive floor. Fabulous for business travellers. Only advice is to avoid gift shop as they sell bogus amber at high prices, saying it is real (well, maybe they didn't understand the question as to its authenticity.) Many staff are reasonably bi-lingual and helpful.... more

My wife and I stayed at the Marriott Hongqiao for three nights. The Hotel is very modern and well appointed. We found it was quite far from Pudong Airport, (it's much closer to the Hongqiao Airport SHA). From the Hotel it's a 30-40 minute taxi ride to get to the shopping, Bund or French Concession areas. (taxi's are cheap, so... more

This hotel offers a very attractive mix of comfort, value, and location. It's modern, with a spacious and sparkling marble lobby. The rooms will no doubt appeal to Americans with a taste for home... maple furniture you'd find at Ethan Allen's and non-contemporary decor. Don't get me wrong, the rooms are impeccably maintained and very comfortable. But this is not... more
