The Shanghai Marriott Hongqiao is a wonderful hotel with excellent service... The staff of the Concierge lounge are extremely attentive and work to anticipate your needs. The location of the hotel is very convenient to the Subway (3 to 5 min walk) and provides easy access to a bank (2 min walk to the corner) and pearl city (10 min... More

I stayed there for three nights, The beds are extremely comfortable the staff makes you feel at home, A quick and easy check in and check out, It's quite difficult to get taxis the best way is to use über make sure to get a room with a balcony, and not a room next to the elevator,

This Marriott is located not far from the airport. Nice and helpful and welcoming staff. There is swimming pool as well as fitness. Starbucks near the hotel lobby. There are 3 good restaurants with selection between international and Asian food. Food quite expensive. Buffet breakfast cost approx 35€, if you want to eat sth in the evening you have to... More

I stayed for 9 nights on a business trip. The location is convenient to where my company is located, as well as being just a three minute walk from the nearest subway station. I was overall unimpressed by the value of the room, and left feeling like I had paid too much. I had upgraded to an executive room upon... More

Although there's a subway station close by (Longxi Road) this hotel is out in Hongqiao and really for those doing business there or needing to catch an early plane from Hongqiao airport or a train from the high speed rail terminus. The traffic getting into or out of the middle of town is horrendous. This hotel was busy when I... More

Typical Marriott style. Had good experience in executive room with access to free breakfast in the executive lounge on the 8th floor. In addition to free breakfast, complementary drinks and food in the evening. The quality and selection sufficed as dinner for my colleague and I for two evenings. We did have to pay for internet though. In general ,... More

I am appalled by the lack of attention to detail from the staff, as well as the courtesy bestowed upon us after it was brought to their attention, i.e., wrong room, broken coffee maker, no stamps at concierge, executive suite with no complimentary breakfast on the floor (that was only the first day we checked in) Paid wifi too! This... More

This is a great hotel in Shanghai. Very clean and the service is excellent. It is a Chinese hotel with western accommodations. The bar is usually busy and offers good drinks at a Shanghai price. The food is excellent. The choices and quality of the food is very good. I found the service to be very good as well. It... More

It's actually a pretty decent hotel, just not up to my taste. Rooms are spacious, just the decor looks a bit late 90s style. Good thing about this hotel though - there is a starbucks and costa just right downstairs, so finding proper food is not a problem.

Staying in Gubei / Hongqiao / Minhang

Neighborhood Profile
Gubei / Hongqiao / Minhang
West of Shanghai’s better-known business, cultural and entertainment centers, lies an expansive area of residential neighborhoods peppered with lifestyle pockets that have their own unique attractions. The schools have formed pockets of international communities throughout Gubei, Hongqiao and Minhang. Quite a few entertainment and shopping centers have built up over the years to cater to these communities. While living here means you are relatively far away from Shanghai’s usual hot spots, the large parks, spacious homes and proximity to great Japanese and Korean food keep the neighborhoods popular.
