I was having low expectations after reading reviews here, so I was pleasantly surprised. It isn't that bad. It's not fabulous, but considering the price you're paying, it's not a bad deal. Rooms are not chic, but comfortable and reasonably clean. Not entirely soundproof, the traffic below and room next door are audible. There's no air conditioning, not a problem... More

I stayed at the Jianguo Hotel 1st week of September 2014 & I was dreading the experience after reading several recent reviews on TripAdvisor & I couldn't change my booking as it was a business trip & I was meeting a colleague here. On arrival I was more than pleasantly surprised. I requested a non smoking room & the room... More

This hotel is well located in Shanghai for shops, restaurants and the Metro. The reception staff were efficient but the concierge didn't seem to have a clue about how to get the Metro to the Bund. The room was modern, well decorated and a reasonable size but had a disappointing view of bins at the back of buildings. The breakfast... More

Worst hotel experience i have ever gotten in China. Room is small and bathroom is dirty. People there are rude and impatient. Go for other hotel if possible stay away from this place. You don't see the service standard. During Morning breakfast we have to hold our food to serch for a seat to settle our meal, finally some guest... More

This hotel is just average. The rooms are smelly, the staff is trying their best and the breakfast is so so but acceptable. The reason for me never staying here again is that I have stayed in this hotel on business occasions for many times (30 to be exact) and every time I will book 2 or more rooms. One... More

The hotel is near by everything you need,is extremely OK for business, there's a lot of shoppings you dont need across the street, following the sidewalk there's several restaurants, you can enter at metro station and pass thru front avenue the go at big mall from the other side, it's near by the most of Shanghai nice places, Xintiandi, Tianzifang,... My company put me in this hotel as it is convenient for their Shanghai office, however there was only one other good point in my opinion. The beds are very firm, which I personally like so found them to be very comfortable but be warned - they are very firm. On the downside; I found the hotel dirty, particularly the... More

This hotel is central, smart and clean. Rooms are well equipped and comfortable. Breakfast is very good with both Chinese and European guests catered for. Staff are helpful and efficient. The skyline at night is a breathtaking sight from the Iron Bridge. Shopping is good with lots of restaurants and fast food outlets. Shanghai has many interesting buildings and comes... More

Good location, rather spacy room, good and quick room service. Quiet insiderbrott even if heavy / ordinary Shanghai traffic outside. Ok breakfast, a bit crowded. I like smaller hotels better but overall, this is a good hotel. They could, however, invest a bit in the "gym" - few and old machine and lousy air conditioning.
