Only stayed for two nights in October 2008 as part of a tour, an ordinary room, not a suite. Rooms were fine, pretty clean with toiletries and slippers, average size. Room had a UK 3-pin plug as well as 2-pin, so handy if you forgot an adaptor! Our air con didn’t work but due to the time of year it... more

A friend & I were in Shanghai to watch the Tennis Masters Cup so we weren't very particular with the hotel; just somewhere clean and nice. We picked this one because it was 2 bus stops away from the shuttle bus which will take us to the tennis stadium; that's the only reason. But if you're going to Shanghai for... more

I stayed here for a week. Good points - Nice breakfast which was included in the daily rate. Good choice of western and Chinese items. The service is very courteous and by Chinese standards, there is always at least one person who speaks English at the front desk. Taxis are always available at the hotel, if not the friendly bell... more

Thankfully our group stayed here for a little amount of time during our 2 wks in China, just 2 nights. The hotel is undergoing a re-furb, so the rooms may be better then... however... my room hadn't been re-furbed (well, I assume anyway!!). The carpet was heavily stained as were the 2 armchairs, wallpaper hanging off the wall under the... more

A Kuoni recommended hotel - however, not in next year's brochure!! Very disappointing. Rooms basic, but clean and spacious, this was the only good thing about the hotel, apart from the boutique in reception which was well stocked with handmade souvenirs, or tatt as we like to call it! Rooms on the front of the hotel very noisy from traffic... more

Summary: An adequate hotel but a long way from the heart of Shanghai. When and why we stayed: Stayed for two nights in November 2006 during a Highlights of China tour. Cost: The hotel was included in the overall cost of our holiday. Room: Our room was modest (Travelodge in the UK standard). The room had a Mini Bar but... more

I travel on business quite a bit, and although this was my first trip to Shanghai, I thought the hotel was an excellent value. Hotel was highly recommended to me by colleagues who have stayed a number of different places in the Hongqiao district and like this place the best. I stayed on one of the Executive floors for 8... more

I have just returned from a stay at the RuiTai Hotel in Shanghai and have to say that it was rather disappointing. I would liken it to a Travelodge hotel. Rooms are clean (except the carpets) but very basic and a lot of them face out onto a very noisy main road. Breakfast isn't up to much unless you like... more
