The Location is great, just opposite the gate no 8 of the people square sub bay station where 3 metro lines are interchanged and direct connection to Airport and railway station. We have stay for four nights on the business trip and found the quiet and neat rooms. the rooms was specious with all amenities. Buffet breakfast were widely spread... More

Designed by eminent Czech architect Ladislau Hudec who designed many important Shanghai buildings the Park Hotel was built in 1934. Shanghai's first skyscraper was designed in the Art Deco style. This building is also notble for stimulating the career of Chinese American architect I M Pei who lived nearby and was so impressed with the Park Hotel he decided to... More

The hotel was built in the 1930s and renovated several years ago. It's perfectly located, near several subway lines and on the famous Nanjing Road. However, the room I got was really smelly and wet. All facilities were on the worn out end. I probably won't go back because I do care a lot about the comfort of the room.

I recently stayed at the Park Hotel along with the 48 students and 20 staff who I was traveling with. The hotel staff are extremely helpful. The rooms are high quality and lovely and clean. The comfortable beds do not echo the traditional firmness that you usually encounter in Asian hotels. The location is wonderful. The People's Park is directly... More

This hotel is in a good location in Shanghai. It opposite the people's park. You can walk to the Bund within 30 minutes - walk out the hotel and turn left and follow nanjing road west until you get to the river. Shanghai museum is only 15 minutes walk away and is well worth a visit. If yo like a... More

Gorgeous old hotel, once the tallest in Shanghai, well located - across from The Peoples Park, easy stroll to Nanjing Road shopping area but away from the crowds. Overall this hotel had no major issue and If the price was right I would happily stay here again. The rooms and facilities are dated but this is an historic building and at least it retains some character from a forgotten era. Check-in was quite long winded as they couldn't work out my VISA, I would have thought this would... More

Staying in People’s Square

Neighborhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
