We had a great two night stay. The views from our riverside bedroom were amazing at night. The breakfast buffet was extensive and the staff very helpful. Would come again. It is on the Bund so a great area to go walking. We had a lovely sunny day which added to our enjoyment

I stayed here for a few nights back in March. Overall a comfortable stay. I had a corner room with a view of the Bund. The room was big with a good size bathroom. My one HUGE complaint was the mold in the stand up shower. I said something but I don't think they understood. Thankfully I had a tub... More

Stayed for couple of nights. The room is decent and modern furnishings. Hotel offer free wifi and is located near area of the bund. It is also about 15 - 20 minutes walk to Nanjing Road where you can do some shopping. Hotel does not provide concierge service for you to store your luggage if you checkout early. This is... More

This old historical hotel, located right on the bund, is one that should be avoided unless you are an avid smoker. It is dirty, loud and staff are rude. Rooms are switched between smoking and non smoking so if you prefer a non smoking clean environment, suggest you stay away.

If the hotel was 3 star the standards and expectations would be changed, but for 5 star hotel everything in this hotel is un acceptable, rooms are very dirty, the ground very dirty, uncomfort bed,old design and very dark rooms! the only positive thing is the location. I will not come to this hotel again.

This is a comfortable hotel at the northern end of The Bund. The view is amazing and it is within walking distance to Thr Bund, Nanjing Road and many other places of interest. The room was very clean and the hotel staff were very helpful. A great hotel to stay at an affordable price.

The hotel is very well located near The Bund Area. Rooms and bathrooms have great space. Carpets need some renovation but nothing to ruin the overall experience. Breakfast seems to be good (not included) but little overpriced. But definitely a great stay in beautiful Shanghai!

Very luxurious hotel, very close proximity to the Bund, service was excellent. The room was very clean. The bellhop at the entrance will help you take your luggage out of your vehicle, and will hail a cab for you if you need one. The food was a bit pricey however, so I would recommend eating somewhere else.

Staying in Hongkou

Neighborhood Profile
Hongkou
History oozes out of every fiber of the city, but Hongkou is a particularly notable neighborhood. Shanghai was a safe haven for about 20,000 Jews during the Second World War, and traces of this heritage can still be found in buildings and park monuments. Historic foreign relations aside, this neighborhood throws you into traditional Shanghainese life without taking you too far away from the city center. Some of the city’s best-preserved, ancient longtangs (laneway communities) and shikumen (Shanghainese lanehouses) are still in use as actual residences here. If you like to be surrounded by local faces, Hongkou is a great area to spend your time in. The football stadium, Duolun Lu and the North Bund area await should you need some entertainment.
