I have stayed in this hotel 3 times for business trips and there is no doubt the hotel rate within "the Bund" area is very cheap. Compare with Hilton Astoria, you can still walk to the bund and share the same Huang Pu river view with the frugal price. The Pros are great rate, about 5 min walking distance to... More

Thank you and all of our prior loyal hotel guests for your business. We have closed this hotel for a complete rejuvenation top to bottom. When we reopen in early 2016 we will be part of the mid-scale value hotel brand, Jinjiang MetroPolo Hotels in China. A select service lifestyle chain of hotels. In the meantime please stay at one... Went to China last year on a Choir Trip. They booked us here and we were all really pleasantly surprised! Very pretty and elegant entrance to the hotel. Rooms were ordinary but very nice and clean. Major differences in this room than in American rooms: beds are hard as a rock, you leave your room card in a slot by... More

Location is ok. It's near the Bund and is 5 minutes away from the Line 10 Subway Station. There's also a small convenience store nearby. The view was nice from room 714, we could see the river and The Bund. The rooms and the bathrooms were clean. I find the room lighting too dim even with all the lights on... More

Overall experience was horrible. Started off bad when I walked through the door and smelled a mixture of old pee, mildew, and overall sourness. It didn't get much better as the hotel is run down, walking to my hotel room there were worn out carpets, mildew, and peeling wallpaper. 1. The room wasn't much better, the beds were rock hard... he one good thing that can be said about this hotel is that it is only a 10 minute walk from the Bund. Now for the bad things that can be said. 1. The lobby smells like cat urine. This is because there is a cat in residence. He is kept in a closet in the lobby and is let... More

This was the final hotel on the Exodus tour of China and I believe they wanted to leave a good impression. First let me say the views were outstanding from both rooms 706 and 814. The place was clean, the in-room safe worked and the A/C too. We walked from here to the bund in about 15-20 minutes. Nanjing Street... More

Let me start off by saying this hotel had its good and bad points. The good outweighed the bad by a long short. We stayed in room 704. Other rooms may be different, therefore you can judge for yourself. The room seemed to have been renovated probably for the Expo in 2010. The good: The view was SPECTACULAR. We could... More

We arrived when it was dark. Hotel bed very hard. Opened curtains in the morning and looked out to fifthy pipes and old roof tops. Window glass was filthy. Carpets on the floor were so dirty. Restaurant food just okay. Chairs were covered in wedding type covers, should have been white but they were so dirty and stained (looked grey).... More

Stayed here for 2 nights. Despite the old building also rooms and bathroom looked quite old, the bed was comfortable to sleep in and the breakfast buffet was delicious. It took about 20-30 mins walking from the hotel to the Oriental Pearl Tower, famous tourist spot in Shanghai. And there is an alley full of restaurants near hotel if you... More

It's a tired old corner site, much closer to the Bund than I'd realised when I booked - probably 15 minute walk. The reception staff were ok, but that's all. One good thing, they let me check in at 10.30 am as I'd just got off the sleeper train from X'ian, and was desperate for a shower. I had opted... More
