Comfortable rooms with a staff that works hard to combine Chinese culture with Western expectations. Executive floor upgrade well worth it. Some confusion at the ground floor restaurant when wanting to take breakfast there instead of executive level one morning. Smoothed over by Diana at the executive level.

This Hotel is in the central of the city. As foreigner in the city, you have a lot of bars and restaurants near by to kill the time. Delicious breakfast as buffet in the morning, recommended any time, to stay here again.

While I live near Shanghai, I needed to stay a few days downtown with my family and picked the Hilton for a few reasons. First, the location is excellent -- right in downtown Shanghai just south of Jing'an Temple. Second, while it is an older hotel, it has been well maintained (unlike nearby properties like the adjacent Shanghai Hotel). Third,... More

I ve been staying at this hotel twice a year for the last 10 years. Its a great hotel, not to many hotels maintain their quality standard in time, very few make it better every year, that s one of the few... Now for the first time, I can say its flawless. The rooms, service, food, executive lounge, gym, health... More

Travelling: 1 adult Overall: Surprised I don’t normally comment on big brand hotels in major cities, they are usually consistent and you know what you are going to get, but the Hilton Shanghai has been a surprise with the service provided on more than one occasion… The hotel overall is what you would expect from a Hilton, the one downside... This is an amazing treat! Although not the newest hotel in Shanghai this classic Hilton is still impressive. Beautiful rooms with every facility you can imagine in a lovely area make this a place to stay! Good food and the Hilton Burger is a must try!

I have stayed in this hotel for over 100 nights in 2015. I have never been disappointed in the service the staff has provided. I have always been treated as a guest of honor. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Shanghai

nice hotel in good location. hotel is a little old but is well kept. F&B outlets are also a little tired and in need of modernizing but they are acceptable and cater for the purpose. Local area is quite liberal and entertaining. There is good shopping near by and some very good restaurants and bars just a short stroll away.... More

I am glad I asked for a high floor room - very worth it. I also loved the breakfast that was included - huge variety of eastern and western. It was still a cab ride from some of the major tourist attraction but center of the city and closer to my office , which was why I was there anyways!... More

I'd been recommended to stay in this part of Shanghai as opposed to my usual spot, and in particular this hotel. It was a good recommendation. The hotel is what you pay for, and is professional, clean, and with lots of space. The downside it is very popular it seems, and you should take advantage of their offer of express... More

Staying in Jing'an

Neighborhood Profile
Jing'an
The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
