Reception staff helpful but some with limited English. Good thing we had no problems. Excellent view from 22nd floor overlooking the river. Large room with comfortable seating for admiring the views. Small bathroom in need of updating-floor under wash-basin dirty. Poor selection of beverages-Nescafe sachet included sugar and powdered milk. Breakfast staff pleasant but inadequetly trained. We had to resort... more

The main point of this hotel is the view on Pudong and the Bund, wich is wonderful, to say the least (even though one has to pay a substantial extra for the rooms with view). Another feature worth the visit is the 30th floor restaurant, where we had breakfast, again with a beautiful view. On the other had the hotel... more

For under USD50 per night, our room included a bedroom, large sitting room, bathroom and small pantry. For central Shanghai this is amazing value. The location is not super-convenient but it's only about 10 minutes walk to the Bund and Chinese taxis are cheap anyway. Beautiful views from the higher floors of the hotel. more

We stayed at this hotel for eight days in June 2008. I read all the reviews before booking on the hotels own website and although I felt a little aprehensive, I fell in love with the photos of the view and so decided to go ahead. I wish we had stayed at another hotel. It was a shock when we... more

Though near the Bund, this hotel is not most conveniently located as one would prefer to be next to a metro station in Shanghai. The closest station is a 20 minute walk or 10 minute taxi ride. The hotel rooms are old and worn out. The Bund is a 15 minute walk. The hotel prices were cheaper than many others,... more

Stayed here with my wife , We really enjoyed the views from the restaurant and the rooms . Didnt have problems with noise like others perhaps we drank ourselves to sleep . The hotel was all you would expect of a 3 1/2 star hotel ,nothing more nothing less. We enjoyed the breakfasts and found the staff in that restaurant... more

The hotel has seen better days and the area around the hotel can seem a bit off putting at first. The real reason for staying here is the view from riverside rooms and the restaurant and bar. The bedrooms are dated, but provide all that you need. For a short stay the place is OK. The restaurant on the 29th... more

Good things: - Awesome value for money - prepaid a good 5 night deal on the net, and the was upgraded to a suite for free. Additionally, 5* and a lot more expensive wasn't substantially better in comparison. - Fantastic western breakfast by Chinese standards - Satisfactory clean - Good security - Good location - walking distance to shopping centres,... more

Yes, other reviewers are right. There's definitely a problem with the hot water. However, we managed o.k., though only by wasting excessive quantities of water constantly trying getting it to a usable temperature. The Hotel must have the most enormous excess water rates - and in this day and age that's not good. No problems with airconditioner, but must admit... more
