When we arrived, we were given the wrong room, and after beginning to unpack were asked to move which was quite frustrating after a long journey. The hotel staff were friendly, and were always willing to help if they understood your requests. The bedroom was spacious, comfortable and clean. The beds were superb. We also had a lovely platter of... More

This is a very good hotel, with some minor and one major negatives. The staff's English is good and they are very attentive. The rooms are modern, clean, and central AC'd. The TV includes English stations, but the internet service was slow. The breakfast was quite good, but once you leave they won't let you return. Be prepared to give... More

We enjoyed this hotel, nice room, very inexpensive minibar (50 cent can of soda!) and a very nice breakfast. The only downside is that it is a distance from the heart of the city. However a taxi drive will only set you back about $5 USD to the Bund.

I found this hotel very very nice. Room was perfect, nicely designed, clean, comfortable huge bed, good wifi internet connection at all times. Very kind staff and much attention for the details to make the stay in every way relaxing. If anything I would say Shanghai people in their been welcoming and open to foreigners are also very loud at... More

I had no idea this was a Howard Johnson hotel when we booked it, but it came with nice amenities. The bathroom was nice and clean and the service was friendly. The breakfast buffet was extremely nice with lots of fun options to appease both the domestic and foreign traveler. Excellent location next to the metro!

Big rooms and nice welcome pack for guests. Nice service, breakfast ok,but not much to eat for an European.. Very fast for laundry. Not every guest respect the no smoking rooms and that's bad that no one make anything.... 2 metro station near by

The hotel is a classic 4 stars city hotel, nothing fancy but with nice appearance. The location is in one of the city streets in the city, 20 minutes by Taxi to the Bund (~30RMB). Shanghai is a very big and crowded city, including heavy traffic, and in this hotel is not in the city center. There is a subway... More

When I went to the bathroom for the first time, the toilet seat wasn't clean. The window doesn't keep the noise out, I thought the window wasn't close. I don't know what other people been stay at and gave good reviews. It sure fooled me on this one, they sure didn't have good standards. It's run down, out of date... More

I've stayed in various hotels in shanghai and I was looking for something a bit quieter and as this was to be my base for a few days I wanted something a bit different and something that catered a little bit more for western visitors. The staff spoke good English and were very helpful. Rooms were very smart and spacious... More
