Good location, close to the subway and the main places. Reception was moving when I arrived, so the visit was a bit quick. Helpful staff anyway. Confortable double ensuite room, with TV set, AC, and WIFI. Food and drinks are convenient, but a bit overprice. The place was quite during the week, but try not stay in the room 670... More

Pros: -10 min walk to Bund! -Close to subway -AC in room -Friendly staff, most speak some English Cons: -Located on 6th floor of building, elevator was always very slow and very full. We generally opted for the dank stairs -Lounge area/chairs somewhat uncomfortable, pool table in rough shape, foosball table useless -Small rooms/bathroom -Linens/towels musty smell Overall, our stay... We stayed here for one night during my visit to China. One of the best things about this place has to be its location. It is located about 20 mts from Nanking East rd metro station which is THE street to go to experience Shanghai. It is also in. Walking distance from the bund, people's square, Nanjiing west road, clothes... More

For the price, the hostel was surprisingly accommodating. The staff were useful and the communal area was a great place to relax, a real traveler's hostel experience. The location was great and being able to wash your clothes was very helpful, had a snorer in my room the first night but that's the luck of the draw so not a... More

Conveniently close to the subway and bund, this hostel is pretty alright. Socialising is limited because the hostel, probably like most others in Shanghai, is filled up by a flock of Chinese job seekers. Ambience is dead and boring. Pool is available, but they strangely took away all balls after 10pm. No music, no activities, there's almost only a bed... More

Overall great hostel. The facilities are great with a great common area and a nice terrace outside with a pool table. The staff speaks decent English and are extremely helpful. Rooms and WC are good and cleaned frequently. Location is very good. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for one night so the small no-windowed room was good enough. The hostel is near the metro station and a 5 minutes walk. It's clean, good athmosphere, English speaking staff. Can be noisy at night. From the hostel its just 2 clicks to the bund.

Good hostel in a central location off one of the main shopping streets. cool common areas and more importantly very clean toilets and showers. Bedrooms were spacious and there was ample locker space although you will need your own lock and key. Bar/food prices were slightly higher than expected with 25rmb for a coffee 5rmb for water.....although you could get... More

I only stayed here for one night, sadly, because I was meeting a group the next day. But the hostel is very well-situated, 2 min from the Bund; clean; excellent facilities and hang-out areas; and nice view from the room. I stayed in a 10-bed dorm and it still felt roomy and comfortable. There are two, TWO electrical inputs on... More

Staying in People’s Square

Neighborhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
