The room itself was spacious, clean, comfortable, and tasteful. The bathroom was also very nice; large tub with a tv. The service wasn't terrible but it also wasn't excellent. No one was overly helpful in offering tips or plans for what to see and do in Shanghai. However, one morning my mom missed breakfast and they offered her free coffee... More

Had to stay (with my bosses from oversea who insisted to stay in Nikko as they know it from Japan - regardless what i told them) there again: so sad? Place is run by hopeless management, check-in took endless again but check-out was worse, they missed their flights. Tried to contact GM, but were refused - so for our group:... More

Good: Spacious room, like the bathtub with TV monitor in front , and the washlet. Mattress is comfortable. The swimming pool is perfect but it requires customer to wear swimming hat. Bad : The air condition is too warm. The check in counter works too slow and the receptionist expects all Chinese can speak mandarin!!

I have stayed at this hotel Many times since it opened. It is a Luxury hotel, but on the lower block of luxury. It has nice White leather, marble and Onix on the elevator and Lobby. On the rooms you can see signs this hotel have been run down with the years. The main problem is the Software, the people... More

Well ... where to start. I dont really even see the point of going into too much detail I'm that angry. So I'll keep it brief. *No wifi in the lobby - said we could only use wifi in our rooms. Business hotel - I dont think so *Put me in a smoking room. I dont smoke. Asked to move,... More

I have been staying at Hotel Nikko for 10 days every month for the last 2.5 years, yet not one staff seems to ever remember or care. Nice and clean hotel with big and comfortable rooms but that's about it. Room service is lukewarm and bland at best (some items are constantly sold out), lobby bar service is painfully lame,... We had 8 nights of booking in Nikko Hotel (Oct 9-17) through hotels.com for a mix of personal and business reasons. We arrived Oct 9 past midnight just to find out the booking we've already paid 100% (USD 1.5K+), wasn’t in the system. The hotel manager took away my phone, inspected my confirmation email from hotels.com and went in a... More

Overbooked and left with no rooms when I checked in. Severe ethical issues and unwilling to assist with other bookings. Seriously irresponsible management. Do not stay at all costs, less you want to be ripped off and stick with unreliable bookings. Not worth it.

The hotel is well overrated and all they wanted to do was rip as much money as possible out of your pocket. The trainee check in lady I had was fine but still.opeeated as noted above. The way of operation is to charge for as much as possible. Wi Fi did not work but guess that was extra, did not... More

Staying in Jing'an

Neighborhood Profile
Jing'an
The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
