I like the location but for a room with no windows it's a rip off. I've stayed here many times and had an ok room for the same price but this time they told me I need to pay 469 to get a room with windows. I won't be going back.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2014

I stayed there on a 2 week business trip in June 2014. The rooms are ok, larger than in Hong Kong. The bathroom is strange, a plastic cabin, with everything pre-installed inside, and then put in the corner of the room, but it does the job. No window views to speak of. There is a small breakfast buffet, the procedure... More

The Ibis Xujiahui is located probably around a 10-15 minutes walk from Jiaotong University Subway station (line 10 and 11) giving you access to attractions in Shanghai. However, the hotel itself is located near Jiaotong University. The malls in Xujiahui area is around a 15-20 minutes walk away. The quality of the rooms here are pretty worn down. The wall... More

I've stayed at Ibis hotels in Munich and Seoul, and really enjoyed the experience. But this branch is just gross. It basically looks like a sloppily refurbished love hotel. Sound-proofing is non-existent. You can hear everything in the next rooms and in the hallway, and the housekeeping staff is really loud. The bed isn't comfortable -- the pillows are tiny... More

While the room was okay, an incident at this hotel has left such a bad impression of Ibis with me and my friends that we most will never stay at any of their hotels again. During our stay, a small kitten became trapped in the ceiling near the elevator. During the three days its cries could be heard, not one... More

It's located at a very good place of Shanghai, the night was quiet. However, the bed didn't sleep comfortably enough. It's still a good hotel anyway, I will live here again if I travel Shanghai alone.

Staying in Gubei / Hongqiao / Minhang

Neighborhood Profile
Gubei / Hongqiao / Minhang
West of Shanghai’s better-known business, cultural and entertainment centers, lies an expansive area of residential neighborhoods peppered with lifestyle pockets that have their own unique attractions. The schools have formed pockets of international communities throughout Gubei, Hongqiao and Minhang. Quite a few entertainment and shopping centers have built up over the years to cater to these communities. While living here means you are relatively far away from Shanghai’s usual hot spots, the large parks, spacious homes and proximity to great Japanese and Korean food keep the neighborhoods popular.
