it is actually a nice hotel with comfortable rooms. Breakfast is nice standard Chinese breakfast and a few western pastries. The room has no wifi. Connectivity is via Ethernet cable. Somewhat quaint. Wifi only available in the lobby and Is not always working. Location is a bit far. It is near the end terminal of a subway line if u... More

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in early December 2014. The room was overheated. It got up to 29 degrees C. We could not sleep and it was very uncomfortable. We asked the staff to lower the temperature three time, their solution was to tell us to open the window. In Shanghai that means letting all the toxic... More

It is located very far from the city centre. In fact it is near the terminal station of Subway Line 6. There's a shuttle bus to city centre but it operates only 1 trip a day. It is cheap via subway to city centre - rmb5 one way. The walk from the hotel to the subway station about 15 minutes.... More

We were on a tour of the Shanghai and were booked at this hotel. Was not sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprise by this hotel – not the Howard Johnson I expected. This hotel was about an hour from the airport and 45 min from Shanghai city center. The hotel room was extremely clean, bed was soft and... More

Stayed in this hotel for just 1 night on a tour. Location of this hotel was more than an hour from central area even without traffic jam. The room was ok but failed to understand why the mattress was only about 1 1/2-inch thick and quite hard. Somehow a big and very thick woolen blanket was folded and placed on... More

The rooms are excellent in my view. We stayed on the 15th floor. What surprised me was the sheer distance from shanghai, about an hour drive, and that not many staff can speak English. If they do, everyone else want their attention so it's very hard to get help. It's also a lot further from the pudong airport than expected.

I stayed there for about a week due to business in Pudong area but to be honest I wanted to change hotel but in nearby area there was nothing better and to commute hour or so from center of Shanghai made no sense. However when I think about all maybe it would be worth commuting. - first day during shower... More

This hotel was a long distance from Shanghai city centre, staff had difficulty understanding English, shower grout was mouldy, room was far too hot (aircon could not be manually adjusted) and breakfast was at best average. Would not recommend unless you have no intention of going into Shanghai and just transiting through Pudong airport.

Have a chance to stay there with my family. It's an excellent Hotel but the only thing is it's a bit out of the way from down town Shanghai. It was approx about a 2 hr journey. Other than that everything is just fine. Rooms, service, bell boy and faciliities are super!

We stayed here in the executive deluxe for 2 nights. With its excellent 5 star fame I consider my stay to be a very poor experience. First, the location was not somewhere around the shanghai CBD so dont expect to have city view in any of the rooms or quick access to the attractions. The hotel lobby is grand and... More
