Have stayed here a few times. Good location, close to Xintiandi and right on Huai Hai Road beside the Apple Store. Rooms are clean and large. This is a serviced apartment so all the rooms have a basic kitchen, better closet space, washer/dryer, etc. Even the smallest rooms (Studio Executive) are about 600sf (60sm). My only complaint is that the... More

While in Shanghai, my local office set me up in the Ascott, which was just down the street from our office. My room was huge and very clean. The bathroom was also a nice size, with an extensive array of toiletries. I had forgotten a few things and I didn't even need to ask--the bathroom was already stocked! I had... More

Have stayed here three times for the last 9 months. The best thing about this hotel is its location. Xintiandi is just a couple of blocks away. Moreover, the hotel is directly connected to Hong Kong Plaza that houses lots of restaurants, shops and Starbucks. Room conditions are OK, revealing some stains on sofa and many scratches on windows. The... More

Stayed here 5 days with my family in a 3 bedroom apartment. The flat was clean, well appointed, fully equipped kitchen (not kitchenette). Breakfast quality was average but the outsoor seating is a nice touch. Basic fitness but nice pool. Location couldnt be better if for leisure or business trip.

A wonderful hotel being located in one of the best districts in Shanghai. Although the hotel is not a Marriott, but the cost is a lot less and offered everything a major hotel would have and then some that one would not normally get in a hotel located in the middle of a big city. The room had a full... More

Good locaton and good hotel rooms against for the area best price. The other facilities are beyond expectation. Hotel restaurant and breakfast is not on a high level, but you can't get it all if you don't want to pay top dollar. Besides there are plenty of places near the hotel for food (Xintiandi is walking distance). If you are... More

Marvellous location in the thick of all international fashion brands. Not to mention proximity to the night bars and the bund. Thumbs up! Only downside is the requirement to pay a substantial deposit which is the first time I came acroas.

Thank you for having selected Ascott Huai Hai Road for your accommodation in Shanghai! What a pleasure to know you enjoyed your stay and our prime location! A beautiful hotel right in the Shin Tan De area. Close to shops, cafes and parks. Room had everything and staff very welcoming. Received an upgrade which was more of an apartment and could have lived there. Would definitely stay again!

I spent 4 nights. Hotel not badly situated if you like Louis Vuiton, Sephora, Cartier... and Starbucks. No specific nice view as it is far from the river and the Bunds. Rooms large but old style, slightly noisy. I was not impressed by the service nor the simple breakfast. Next time I will choose another hotel, just to benchmark.

Thank you for having stayed at Ascott Huai Hai Road Shanghai. I am sorry to hear that your apartment was not up to your full satisfaction. Our location in XinTianDi does not provide direct Bund-views, however the skyline-views of the area are often praised (especially night views), and East-facing apartments have views of the Pearl Tower. Apartments on higher floors... More

Stayed for 6 nights for business - excellent location if your office is in the area and close to many restaurants/clubs/bars. However, the place is in dire need of a facelift; had stayed at Frasers Place previously but decided to give Ascott a try but am disappointed with the aged room interiors. Breakfast is hardly inspiring and the restaurant interior... More

Staying in People’s Square

Neighborhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
