I am a hotel freak and stayed in more than ten hotels in Shanghai so far, and this is the best hotel for me in the area! Basically, I enjoy staycation and this hotel is the best. It is easy to reach on Metro No.7 from the Maglev Station. The hotel is almost directly connected from the nearest station. There... More

Spent time in this hotel whilst having my Chinese visa renewed, it's directly on the Number 7 metro line and has shops/resturants also around the area. Take about 30/45 minutes from the airports by taxi £25 should cover it.

Stayed here with our tour group. Absolutely love this place, the rooms are great, comfortable and have good views. A bit out of the downtown area but still convenient. We hired a private driver from the hotel on our free day. It was safe, great and easy for us to do the city on own. Traffic is atrocious in Shanghai... More

Overall a very good hotel, got a spacious suite, tidy and clean. Check-in quick and smooth. Lounge executive with a very nice view and a very friendly and care staff. The location, however, is convenient only if you can travel by mtr; my office needs a taxi and in the morning at 9 o'clock I took 25 minutes to get... More

I stayed in the Renaissance Putuo several times the last years. The Hotel and the Service are always on a top Level, specifically the executive lounge. Food, Drinks and Service there is even better than in the JW Marriottt Shanghai and compared to other Marriotts Renaissance in Shanghai and China General (I stayed in all Renaissance Hotels in Shanghai and... Actually, my client booked me into this hotel looking, i believe to lower costs. I was first surprised when Ann, the Executive lounge manager e-mailed me about my preferences and some duplicate reservations - even the JW does not do that. Then, the room was wonderful and the food, wine and service in the lounge was surpassed - prompt service... More

Was fortunate to stay 4 nights in Shanghai Putuo district's Marriott Renaissance. Room #1207 was exceptionally clean and quiet. Modern decor with modern amenities. Room includes a soaker tub, a separate rain shower stall, low flow toilet, ingenious retractable walls for bathroom privacy, 2 complimentary small bottles of water for brushing your teeth with, an in-room safe that can fit... This hotel is decorated to a very high standard as you would expect from a Renaissance property. Excellent facilities In the rooms and public areas and very quiet with no traffic noise. Located right next to a subway station and plenty of shops. If you want to go to The Bund it is a 30 minute taxi ride costing about... More

It seems that the hotel is in the middle of nowhere but underneath is a subway stop so you can be downtown in no time :-). By the way, take exit 4 go straight past the restaurants and look to the right as the entrance to the hotel is hidden. I am not sure what the price is if you... More
