Zhongshan Park has become my go-to district to stay when travelling to Shanghai. It is convenient and close to the city centre but at the same time not too touristy. It's my first time staying at Elite Residences but I will definitely come back to it from now on! Granted this is not the luxurious hotel type, but it's clean... More

This is a great alternative to western hotels if you are willing to make a few compromises. First of all, the location of this hotel is EXCELLENT. The hotel is only 100m from exit #6 on Metro Line 2. Using this metro station, you are three short metro stops from Hongqiao Airport, or four short stops from the Bund and... More

My Chinese host booked this for me for a couple of nights while on business in the area. Very good room, clean, secure, good comfortable bed. Good desk area to work at; but here is where it drops from excellent to very good - internet painfully slow, even if it is free. Good welcome from friendly competent staff. Plenty of... More

Had a wonderful stay at Elite Residences. The location is perfect, walking distances to the train station. Eating is convenient and choices are plenty. The room met the requirements of the business travellers. The laundry service is excellent and is comparable to some of the established hotels in the world. The coffee machine at the breakfast lounge is good and... More

Stayed in this hotel apartment block whilst living in Shanghai and can thoroughly recommend it. The location is excellent for getting around sitting nicely on metro line 2. It is was one of the smaller places compared to the 30/40 floor blocks and has very helpful staff. Zhongshan park is just across the road which is nice for an afternoon... More

I stayed here for 5 nights. The room was very comfortable with a king size bed. The room spacious, it had a fitted wardrobe, area with a kettle and fridge (although empty). There was a desk with free internet connection. The bathroom was very clean with a bath and excellent shower. Although my room looked out onto the main road... More

Staying in Zhongshan Park

Neighborhood Profile
Zhongshan Park
The residential and commercial areas around the beautiful grounds of Zhongshan Park have never been considered particularly fashionable by a majority of Shanghai’s foreign residents, but plenty of expats do choose to live here. The park itself is a huge draw, providing a pocket of serenity in the middle of the metropolis. The area has its share of trendy shops with wares that can’t be found elsewhere, delicious restaurants with food ranging from fancy to affordable, and great hidden bars. Rents are also cheaper here than in other neighborhoods with the same conveniences. Aside from the obvious attractions, with its neighborhood fix-anything shops and pop-up street stalls that sell anything you need, you’ll never sacrifice Western comforts.
