First time to China, not speaking Chinese? Then don't go there. There is no proper reception, if you find the one person speaking English you are lucky. Apartments are fairly affordable, spacious but not clean. Area is not very nice for walking, but within metro reach. WLAN exists, but poor.

The apartment was clean and nice in a basic way. The location was fab! It was walking distance from the metro and all the shopping and restaurants! Only suggestion i have is that you make sure you organize a cab to the train station or airport way in advance cause it is very rare to find one last minute! We... More

It's hard to understand how this place has gotten the positive reviews it has. The apartment was large, but it was a dump. Dirty, dated, and dingy. Had we not only been staying one night, we would have walked right out. The windows could not be locked, so it was quite unsafe for our 4-year-old son as well. The wifi... More

The serviced apartment locates at the quiet area in Jing An District. It is a bit far from metro station, many convenience stores, restaurants and cafes nearby. Nanjing Road West is also 15 minutes’ walk from the apartment where is the busiest area in Shanghai. The interior decoration of the room was a bit aged but equipped all I need.... More

Big and clean apartment. Very suitable for a family. Nice living room and bath. Good location too. Sometimes, it's hard to get a taxi, especially weekdays before 9:30 in the morning. Kitchen is small, but they provide everything. Washing machine is helpful

When you don't want the traditional hotel and you want to self cater and wash your own laundry, this place works. Its location is great with the Metro not far away. I stayed for 2 weeks while working in Shanghai. It is reasonably priced and has a separate bedroom and lounge for spreading out.

I travelled from the UK to Shanghai and booked my apartment through Booking.com. Obviously, you worry somewhat when you book online, from 6000 miles away and arriving at 1.00 am in the morning. I needn't have worried. I received confirmation online, then once I had landed and switched on my phone, received a message from David at the apartments reassuring... More

We stayed here for a week in a 1-bedroom apartment and were very satisfied with it. The apartment was very clean and everything seemed new. The kitchen had only basic utensils but that was enough for us. I expect they would provide more items on request. The location was good, reasonably quiet but lots of nice restaurants nearby. The porter... More

The location is OK - Nanjing West Road metro station is around 10 minutes walk. The entrance to the apartments are located on the back of the building. You have to call from reception to the guy responsible for rooms and then he comes. It can take some time. The apartment is OK if you do not need much assistance... More

Staying in Jing'an

Neighborhood Profile
Jing'an
The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
