We choose the Baron Hotel to live near the bund for few days. It shows 4 Stars and the price was reasonable. When we arrived we found out the stars was selfgiven. Nobody from the staff speaks a word english. The food was only chinese and bought from the street vendors. The room itself was somehow like in the prison. The... More

This hotel is hard to rate as I have a different experience each time I stay there. Two years ago it was great. Last year I got a room with very bad mildew. This years visit, nothing special but the room was acceptable. I go here because, although it's hard to find at first, once you know where it is,... More

I have totally forgotten to write this review. I stayed here in 2013. Yes, 2 years ago. But I just wanted to say, this hotel was really cheap, but I was really happy with the cleanliness of the hotel and the room. As you know, it's very difficult to find somewhere cheap but clean in China. I highly recommend this... More

Although it's not terribly descriptive, everything about this hotel was ok. Good if you just want a decent place to sleep, so it did what I needed it to. Best thing about this hotel is its location - very close to the Bund and the subway, which I used extensively. By my standards this is a 2.5 to 3 star... More

The customer service at this hotel is extremely horrible!!! Our train ticket agent has tried to deliver our train tickets to the hotel multiple times but they refused to accept on our behalf. We have called & pleaded with them over the phone but no luck. Our business train trip is immediately within the hour after checking into the hotel... More

As most reviews state the only good thing about this hotel is the location. Service is very poor. Cleaness is poor. The beds are clean but very hard and the pillows while they have clean pillow cases they smell really bad which does not help with trying to sleep. Walls are really thin so very noisey. The shower would be... More

the great adventure of this hotel is it's location: so close to the bond which runs along the river where one can be facinated by shanghai's skyline especially at night. the hotel's quality is fairly good but not something outstanding. the view we got by the window was another room of the hotel.

The room is big and clean, but the service ia so slow. Far from nanjing road and yuyuan. Difficult to the location because inside the small road. Bad wifi connection. Not really recommended. Far to mrt station walks about 20minutes.

Ok but the reception staff struggle to speak English. We found the hotel quite bland. Mainly geared for the Chinese market. The room was small but clean, could not get the Air Conditioning to function correctly. Great location for the bund and fair pricing for what we had, not very inspiring or exciting.

The hotel is right around the corner of the Bund, the must-see area in Shanghai. But the location in really the only good thing I can think of. The room was not cleaned well and the floor looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in weeks! The shower curtain was moldy, the room and towels smelt like cigarette smoke... We had... More

Staying in People’s Square

Neighborhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
